Driver Instructions for Race 7

Track Limits

Participants may not put more than two tires on the apron--the flat part of the race track--in turn 1 to gain an advantage. The following photo demonstrates two tires being placed on the apron:



Participants, unless exiting the pits, are to stay to the right side of the inside retaining guardrail in turn 2. The following photo demonstrates a car driving to the right of the inside retaining guardrail. It is okay to put all of your tires on the apron in turn 2 if you wish to do so:



Pitting

The pits open on lap 3/65. Pitting on the last lap is allowed. Remember that the pits close when the safety car is deployed, and are re-opened by race control during the safety car period. Participants must keep 10 laps in between their pits and make three of them during the race--so pitting on laps 33, 43, and 53, is an example of a valid pit strategy.

Once again, there are two pit lanes on the track, the slow pit lane is on the left, and the fast pit lane is on the right. There are special instructions that must be followed for pits during this race.

When pitting under green, participants must hit with all four tires the commitment line shown below before heading to the pits:


As they drive to the pits, they must stay on the flat part of the track to the right of the guardrail through turn 1:


As they exit, they must stay to the left of the guardrail through the second corner:

-The halfway point is reached when the leader starts lap 33/65

-Under the rare scenario that a participant hits the commitment line, but the safety car is deployed before they can visit the pits, their pit will not count if they continue into the pit lane.

-Under the rare scenario that the safety car comes out while a participant is exiting the pits--that is, while they driving on the pit exit route in turn 2--that participant is expected to slow down to safety car speed upon deployment of the safety car and blend in with the field as they reach the frontstretch.

-Participants who pit under safety car do not have to drive through the commitment line before hitting pit road, and may use the short lane to complete their pit regardless of whether the halfway point of the race has been reached or not.

-You do not have to respawn while in the pits.

Blue Flags

Blue flags start when the leader reaches lap 53/65. Though lapped participants do not have to yield to the leaders before this point, it is advised that participants do so anyways if they (are about to) fall 2 or more laps down to the leader for the sake of preventing dangerous situations from arising on the race track.

If a participant is in doubt over whether another participant nearby them is a lead lap car or a car they are racing for position, it is better to play it safe than sorry and let the other participant by--ignoring blue flags usually results in disqualification from the race.

Blue flagging will likely be a difficult task at this track. Listen to the directives given by the participant lapping you. When in doubt, stay to the outside of the track.

Additional Directives

This track is fast, narrow, and rough, especially in turn 1. Drivers are advised to practice at least 20 laps and get familiar with both the low and high lines in turn 1, and also be careful around others in corner entry and exit during the race.

If you are a reserve driver in this championship, please indicate as soon as you can whether you intend to start in this race.

I will be able to reserve again for the next race.

I consider this track to only have two turns, the second one being the one that kinda looks like 2 90-degree turns. The two wheels rule applies in turn 1 but NOT turn 2--cutting onto the apron in this corner is okay, you'll need the extra racing room.
