Multi-Class Endurance Championship Season Four

Also I should officially announce that we have two people looking over the event on each platform. Whilst I'll be running the event, they'll be running their platforms from an organisational standpoint with regard to lobbies, getting the race started, handling reserve drivers and secondary championships, etc. Essentially a case of I'll give the instructions and they'll make sure they're followed.

It takes a lot of stress off my shoulders, and gives each platform a focal point to contact and see when they need something (rather than me getting everything). Although keep in mind that you won't be babysat during the event. If you forget to turn up to a round then that's your fault alone. We're not going to be chasing people up week in week out once the information has been posted for each round.

These are also the people you should contact if you want to help out further (if you've said so already in this thread and I just didn't happen to pick you as one of the two people I wanted on each platform). They'll need people to do various things so if you're interested in helping let them know

They won't be needing to do too much right now but you'll see them more from an organisational standpoint for your platform as time goes on and we get closer to the event. Their first task however is creating the "make-up" events for those who haven't participated in an event in 2017, so feel free to check your relevant platform's event section for that as they're live now.

It will comprise of 10 rounds taking place over 5 months. Each round will be like an event in and of itself, with two weeks between each and a five week break just after the mid-point of the season. XB1 and PC races will be held on Saturdays (races starting at 7pm and 9pm UK time respectively) with PS4 races on Sundays (starting at 8pm UK time). The full calendar is below.

Car classes for the races will be as follows: Racecars (Supers), Racecars (Sports), Racecars (Muscle), Supers, Sports, Muscle, Sports Classics, SUVs, Sedans, and Off-Roads (actual cars yet to be chosen).

5 of the 10 races will be held on the official stunt recreations of LSGP, NL, OGP, BC24 & RONR, which will undergo some improvements based on a mix of community thoughts, different techniques used in unofficial recreations, and in keeping with my own personal desires for the circuits. The other 5 races will be held on platform specific community tracks (yet to be chosen).

Rain may play a part in some of the races depending on when/if that functionality returns for stunt races.

Races will be 1h 30m long and mandatory pit stops will be a feature for the first time during the championship.

Vehicle modification restrictions will be enforced for cars on a round by round basis, though some options will remain open for setup tinkering.

There will be 27 drivers for each platform and they will be chosen based on involvement in NoDo racing events recently and participation in past MCEC seasons, in addition to general good attitude and behaviour.

More restrictions will be placed on reserve driver availability and the amount of rounds that can be missed compared to previous seasons. The calendar is being posted well in advance - make sure you can attend all rounds.

Some people will be needed to help run each event on each platform. This will more than likely be organisational stuff on the day (getting people in lobbies, setting things up, etc) to just help take some of the workload off my shoulders. Feel free to let me know if you want to help out and I'll contact people privately.

There will be overflow secondary championships should there be high enough demand for those who don't make it into the main championship. These will contain 5 races instead of 10 and be more laid back. You're welcome to sign up just for these secondary championships if you like, though there is no guarantee one will be held on your platform. They will likely be held on the off-weeks of the main championship (depending on how many there are) and I expect will be organised by people helping me overall (ie. I may not be in attendance for every round of every championship, again depending on how many there are).

You can also sign yourself up as a reserve driver only, if you can't make all the rounds and don't want to be part of a secondary championship.

A Note About Championship Rules
We won't be having a repeat of last season regarding big debates about the rules. Anyone who is unhappy with the rules of the championship is advised to simply not sign up. This isn't Formula 1 where the teams vote on the decisions. The rules above including the calendar are set in stone, however they are intentionally vague regarding the specifics in some areas for a good reason - I want your suggestions too. Now is the time to post suggestions on anything not mentioned explicitly above and it will be taken into account. Again if your suggestions don't get implemented and that's a deal breaker for you then you're advised to pull out of the championship before the first round should you be selected. The final list of rules and regulations will be published in good time before the championship commences. Whilst I'm here to make the final decisions on the championship and make sure it runs the way I want it to, I'm also not blind to the desires of those who are interested in racing/watching and I'm more than happy to take all suggestions into consideration.

Event Ethos
One final thing to remember is that this championship has always been primarily about participation. It's an endurance not only in the races but the championship itself. Those who manage to complete all rounds despite issues and the usual ups/downs of racing are those who are most respected. Therefore selections will be keeping that in mind. Being a quick driver isn't an absolute guarantee of selection for the championship, as has always been the case in previous seasons. This has never been an elitist championship and it's certainly possible for quick drivers to not be included in the main draw in favour of more dedicated community members or those who are more in line with the values of the championship as a whole. As explained though, anyone who doesn't get into the main championship will have other options like last season to get a taste of MCEC action anyway, but I just wanted to make this clear.
