So here's a thing:
I didn't like any of the wheels on my custom Schafter so decided to go back to stock. It costs a different amount to go back to stock rims depending on which wheel type you choose (up to 8k for high end, as low as 3k for tuner).
My question is, do you still get the performance of that particular type of tyre even when your wheels look like stock? It did feel like it to me but I'm not a popular YouTubing GTA mythbuster...

Look at the sidewall, if it is smaller on the stock wheels it be slower on many tracks. The larger it is the better it will deal with bumps or curbs. You'll also be able to curb boost easier with a bigger sidewall. I prefer tuner tires since I can stand the look of offroad tires on my race cars.

Thanks, yes, I've seen those videos and agree that tuner wheels are the best compromise.
But why is there a different price for going back to stock depending on which category you select?
What I'm saying is, I think it might be possible to get the thin sidewall look with the thick sidewall performance, but ONLY when you go back to stock rims.

Just in case anyone was following this thread, I've tested around CC and it seems that returning to stock does NOT give you the look of the stock wheels and performance of offroad.
Vehicle: Oracle, unmodded Best: 1:03.8 with offroad but frequently slower at 1:04.3ish Second best: 1:04.2 consistently with sports
I did consistently better times on sports tires...
Would love to see someone consistent (unlike myself!) give this a try!

Thank you, I watched it again earlier.
But the one question it doesn't answer, the one I've been getting at in my previous 2 posts, is why does it cost different amounts to go back to stock tyres and what are the differences (if any) in performance?

Its worth testing I suppose. Just run over some curbs and see which is smoother. Would be kind of cool if you could use "off-road" stock tires on your sports and supers and still get the same effect.

At last! This guy gets it The off-road tires just don't look good on anything. I'll take Broughy's word for it that they're better for racing but they just look wrong on my Turismo. I might not go back to stock but I might try Tuner wheels and hope for the best.

I tested this out it makes no difference which category you select stock wheels from. The performance is the same and it when you do purchase the stock wheels it shows that they are purchased and equipped in all categories.

That's a real shame.
From a "scientific" point of view, which car did you use? Might be interesting to see if, for example, stock muscle wheels turned out to be quicker than replacing them with high end, or something.
