I like GTA racing. I bet if you’re reading this, you probably do too. I remember days not too long ago when someone was hosting a playlist at almost any time, and lobbies could be populated quite easily with crew members. These days, however, it seems people only hop on occasionally for set events. I’d like to host one of those events, but make it feel more like the old days. This will be a semi-competitive racing event that I hope can bring a bit of nostalgia. I’ve tried to select a time that will give the most people a chance to make it. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of skill.

General Playlist Information:
Each Saturday at 8 UTC, there will be a playlist hosted which could include a multitude of race types. I will post the links to the tracks and the playlist, as well as information about each race in the list. I’ll try to shake up the kind of races we have in each playlist so that it doesn’t feel stagnant. The types of races I will choose from are:
Driver Choice: Your typical playlist race. I’ll provide the class we will be doing, and you choose any car you want. Expect the Pariah and Vagner to be banned in these races, and possibly other “OP” cars. We still may do one-make’s with them though.
Select Cars: For this race I will choose a few cars for you to choose from that are around the same pace and race well alongside each other.
One Make: I will select one car that everyone will drive.
Hotlap: Unlike all the other races, this one will be non-contact. Race winner will be determined by lap time, not final standing, so give it your all.
Mini-Endurance: A race that will last about 20 minutes.
Endurace: A race that will last between 30-45 minutes, depending on how many I want to put in a playlist

Any class or car is open for use, and please give me suggestions about what you would like.

Timing Information:
Date: Saturdays, First One December 30th
Pre-lobby: Around 7:30 PM UTC
Race-Lobby: 8:00 PM UTC
Event end: 10:00-10:30 PM UTC

Start Procedure:
-WAIT AT THE START. First corner pileups are the absolute worst, so organizing and starting with a sticky bomb is the best way to do it. Each race will start with a reverse grid of the race before it. In the case of a non-contact race, we will all congregate within each other (xD) and I will say the time to go on the mic.
-In the case of pre-selected car races, don’t worry if you don’t have one. Respawns will be given before the race gets going. If you use someone else’s car, be sure to park yours well out of the way.

Extra information:
-Blue Flag will be in effect for ALL contact races. That means if you’re getting lapped you must allow the faster car that is passing you to do so without a fight.
-Life happens for everyone, so I’m almost certain I won’t be able to host this every week. I’d like a few people who are willing to volunteer to host in my absence. (I will still coordinate the playlist for the week)
-I am always open to suggestions regarding tracks, cars to use, and types of races. Let me know of any improvements that can be made, or if you have any questions. Post a reply here or message me on Slack or PlayStation.
-Add me on PSN (thejp_15) so you can make sure you’re able to get into to the pre-lobby (it will be an invite only session) and the races.
-I understand this time slot is used often for events. If you wish to host an organized event and want to use this time, of course it will take precedent over this.
-To prevent people who shouldn't be joining from doing so partway through, please set yourself to appear offline on PSN.

-Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in doing. I’d like to get at least 10 people to express interest, and then I will set the first date, hopefully December 30th or January 6th.

Scoring:
As this is a semi-competitive event, we’ll have semi-competitive scoring system. To offer a bit of long term incentive for these playlists, points will be given out for each race in the playlist, rather than final standings of the playlist itself, so there’s no worry if you can’t stay for a whole playlist. The top 15 drivers will receive points. In Hotlap races, the top 15 will be based off of lap times. Total points will be posted here.
