Can someone please explain curb boosting and is it still a thing? going over a bump in the road of any type causes the engine to rev. Commonly known as curb boosting although far from limited to curbs. Its absolutely a still a thing and was in gta4 also. Its part of how the game works and likely will always be in the game. I suggest you use it and get skilled at the art of hitting curbs and bumps to go faster rather than be one of the people who whines and complains about a mechanic that is impossible to avoid.

It's part of the game. Embrace it... Enjoy it. Or come up with 28 rules, to stop it, bann certain tyres, choke your racetrack, and water down a game to the point where there's so many restrictions. The game is no longer enjoyable. The beauty of this crew... You actually have a choice!

Hey guys, whats up? Im not a slow driver. i can keep up with the best but only for like half a lap because my composure runs out but it would seem like in some situations, protecting your line almost seems like an asshole move because your constantly kind of cutting the person off because theyre jist the better driver. When your tailing somebody for a little while because theyre protecting their line, when you obviously get the better corning, is that kind of a thrill? Is it fun to keep trying to get passed a good protectful driver driver or is it more like, "Cmon man, get the hell out of the way"? Or is there a factor im missing? Im new to racing with really good drivers like the ones in NoDo so excuse me for my lack of knowledge

About blocking. The other day in a race, there was someone saying I was lineblocking him. At least that&s what I understood (crappy headset/language barrier). But it was on a straight, he wasn't lapping me and I didn't swerve at all. Correct me please if I'm wrong, but in this situation I can keep my line, right?
I let him pass anyway because it was one of my first NoDo races, he was obviously faster and I didn't want to cause a wreck at the next corner. But if i would have kept my line, it wasn't a 'blue flag' situation imo, or was it?

If what you've said there is accurate then no, he had no right to tell you to move simply because he was faster and most people in that situation would have told him to do one. I won't say any more on that because I don't know the situation and am only hearing one side of the story, but what I would say is that if your in that situation again to record it if you can (easy on PS4) and report it to the commissioner's for your console, they know who most of the 'unsporting' people are in the crew and you shouldn't feel bad about reporting that kind of thing.

Well it didn't really bother me atm. He just said so, that's it. I would've responded if it wasn't for my potato headset. Just got me thinking about what was right. Thnx!

I had an example last night. The flying ost crashed into the back of me underbraking. But I still managed to slow down enough for the corner and take it, but I still messed up and crashed myself. Ost stopped said I'll wait to which I replied why did you wait it wasn't your fault to ost replied saying I'll wait anywau because im like that lol. If I was him I wouldn't have waited or it might have been mid1010101 I can't remember exactly, Same as another competitor in the same race he made a mistake, began to spin i caught the front of his car while I was speeding through on the racing line which made him crash out. I apologised but I didn't wait, I didn't feel like I needed to, I don't want to feel like I have to wait in every incident, sometimes shit happens. I think a lot of people are scared of crashing or some people may abuse the stopping and waiting system. I've had one altercation with a fellow member and we sorted it between ourselves.

Thank you for this thread. Easily the most helpful racing thread I've read yet. Raced over 700 races already but I'm still learning, as we all are. Glad to be in this crew with such elite but manners-driven racers.

What is the Nodo opinion about turbo starts? Is it legit and commonly accepted as perfect start? I could not find anything about it in this or the general guidelines section either
