Hi guys, I recently overclocked my GTX 760 by 100 MHz and I'm super happy with it, in some cases I'm getting 10-20 more FPS than what I had. however I heard that overclocking can shorten the life span of your GPU. It's completely stable (I left MSI Kombuster on for 15 minutes with no crashes) and I've done nothing with the voltage, but I'm still worried. Is it ok or should I revert back to default settings?
Thanks in advance.

If you dont mind buying cheaper PCs every 2 years then overclocking is great lol. Overclocking is just free speed, you are forcing your build to operate at higher speeds than it should. You are basically redlining your computer until it dies putting way more mileage on it way faster than would have normally occurred assuming both computers were used equally. As for the voltage if you do raise it get better cooling as the this will generate heat.
Google is your friend man. Ill never understand why people dont take their questions to google first. Its faster, more reputable sources can be found and you look a lot smarter when you figure shit out on your own. If google fails then yeah I guess post on a forum or something.

I had googled it but I didn't get the answers I was looking for lol. As for what you said, I'm hoping to get a 970 or something this year or the next so that's perfect. So long as it doesn't destroy the rest of my pc it's fine

Yeah, you just gotta watch out for the temperatures, FurMark + Afterburner, leave that for one hour and look at the results. AMD cards may be worth a look here because you generally get more value in the mid to low end segment. Btw, #IWant4GB See for yourself: www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html

Also, I'm fully aware of that silly ramgate thing but it won't affect me, I have one monitor and I play at 1080p

Is that bad or should I try to push for 1 hour?
