This is what Crafton's (#88) crew chief, Junior Joiner had to say about this: "He's racing for a championship. Obviously the smart thing to do was not pass us for the win and allow us to close that small 14 point gap between us in the points."
Given how hard it is racing side-by-side at Phoenix, and how badly Crafton doesn't want to lose to a rookie, I kind of saw it coming. I actually wish that Jones had more damage, namely so it could have closed the points even further.
NASCAR had me stay up until 3am to see the end of the Daytona 500, but they end this arguably much more important race at a mere 11:30? This is some bull. I checked the radar, it was a strong cell, but behind it was nothing. They could have finished this race, and they SHOULD have.
