If this is in the wrong place to post this, feel free to move it.
So lately i haven't been wanting to race much, its started feeling like a chore and i cant bring myself to join races because of it. I stopped logging on to skype and joining a lot of races, iv just been doing heists with a group of Scottish lads. I mean i love racing, but idk if its just the level of competition that is too high and putting me off wanting to do it, or iv finally gotten over the fact im nothing special.
This was the first time iv ever got myself into a racing environment that isn't against the computer AI. Sure i was in the car meetup scene before this, but it wasn't a competitive thing. When i first joined here it was very exciting to race people in a professional community that don't crash each other off the road. I wanted to get myself involved into a group that likes the same thing i do since my mum said i should find a group to join. I was feeling depressed and suffering with stress more so than i am at the moment. Im a very shy person in the flesh, i don't like meeting people in the real world. Anyway i digress.
I may attend some events and the odd race here and there. I might even start an off-road event cruise or do more car meets. But im done with trying to beat hot-laps and racing for now. I know my place and limits, there are more talented people out there than me. Don't get me wrong though, i do think my times and racecraft are very good but there is always someone out there better, and that's fine. All the respect in world for you guys, cause i know how hard it is to be good at something. Anyway this is basically why you haven't seen me racing or around that much lately for anyone who wondered or cares.

There's always a bigger fish, but there will also always be smaller fish I'm absolutely nowhere near 'skill-level-Asian' myself. If it wasn't so much work to level up again I'd change my psn to KoBo_DNF But the way all the faster racers treat me, even when I'm lapped for the 4th time in a race, keeps me coming back for more. I get your sentiment though, it can get a bit tedious if you're always behind. But I always think it can't get any worse, I can only get better. I saw a guy finish a Rubik's cube in 5.25 seconds yesterday, and I've never solved one in my life, but I still try it every now and then. It's al about having fun. When you're not having fun anymore, it's probably a good idea to take a break/do something else for a while. Maybe after a while your interest will grow again and you can make a fresh start. I wish you the best of luck

I wish you the best of luck I understand what your saying, but iv been racing on racing games practically all my life. Im not always behind and i never get lapped. I generally finish in the top 5 positions but rarely first place. I was saying that its becoming a chore to keep up with the top places all the time. Racing a human is different than racing a computer AI. After you have beaten a computer AI it becomes a completed goal, or a flag on the hill. With a human opponent they neither become a completed goal or a flag on a hill when / if you beat them in a race, because people do not stay at the same skill level as computer AI. Therefore there is no goal to achieve that i can physically reach right now. And that's why i think its becoming a chore to race at this top skill level because you cant turn your back on trying to do the very best you can do because everyone else is also trying to do the same. Im not finding it that fun anymore to compete at this high level when im pushing my skills to the highest they can go. Also like Broughy said, its very frustrating to keep getting second or 3rd and its been like that for a good while now. i don't feel like iv improved at all lately. Iv reached my best i can do. Thats all i was trying to say.
A little background history. Since i first played Rage Racer back on the ps1 (i might have been about 8 or 9 years old). I found that i was good at it and it made me want to play it all the more. Of course at the time i didn't have the full game, only the demo so you could only play it until the timer ran out. After that I progressed onto Crash Team Racing and i got serious with it. I beat it about 6 times and it is where i learnt how to race, and i was fast as hell on it. Nobody ever beat me even if i used Polar or Pura (which were the slowest characters in the game). Its still the best kart racer game ever made, better than Mariokart any day of the week. Next was Need for speed underground that got me into proper car racing and iv loved the street racer sim games ever since. Again i beat it with little effort and progressed onto need for speed underground 2. Which i also 100%'ed. After that was Need for speed most wanted, i beat that game 3 times and i 100%'ed it without getting busted once. Even the final chase where u get your BMW back i didn't get busted and have a 0 busted record somewhere on my ps2 memory card. Was proud of that back in the day. I mean obviously i had GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas as well which as you well know has lots of driving in it. I got my ps3 after that and 100%'ed Motorstorm Apocalypse and need for speed undercover. Then of course iv progressed onto GTA 5. Hope i didn't bore anyone who got this far and read all this.
