PSN = Strikeslip, R*SC = Strikeslip
GTA V (Online) are my first try at this series, so I'm fairly noobish.
Racing is my favourite thing to do, but alas, everyone seems to use Catch-up and Slipstream, and ram each other like a mad pack of lunatics. Randoms rarely join or stay in my non-Catchup/Slipstream race lobbies for long, maybe I have B.O.?
I played GranTurismo 3-or-4(?) long ago, so understand racing lines and basic strategy/etiquette; however, implementing that with a PS3 controller isn't very easy for me. GranTurismo never worked well for me online, so I abandonned it fairly quickly as I prefer racing humans.
I found one of Broughy's videos and it pointed me here. I'm really hoping to be able to join in on some race playlists with large groups where Catch-up and slipstream are off. Or maybe some NoDo's will join my invite's. I'm not a fan of GTA races, but I do enjoy elegantly-designed races with jumps, such as Four-Way-Madness IMO. Mostly I enjoy the no-frills races.
I have two garages full of fully-modded cars to fit pretty much each class.
I'm not an IRL cart racer, though I have done some recreationally (driver's license required type), which gave me a lot of respect for real race car drivers after experiencing the g-forces just from those carts.
My IRL car is an Acura RSX, not type-S, sadly, but I can still wind up the engine for a quick getaway.
I usually get a couple of hours of GTA in a couple of evenings during the week, though the wife comes down to the mancave and stands in front of the TV looking angry if I'm not off by 10pm. Friday and Saturday nights I'm usually allowed to play pretty late/early with a snifter of whiskey. Life is good.
ETA: "Strikeslip" because I'm a geologist and that was the first online gaming name I chose for Quake, on the PC. Not a racing style, hehe.
