Personally I quite enjoyed it, thanks to everyone else who participated. Shame about some people who couldn't in - I think communication between participants and making sure all invites are sent will be something to improve on next time around. Nevertheless, not bad for the first event!

If I'm going to waste my time, it certainly won't be wasted on endurance racing in GTA

Good race guys. Cool to see so many people in a race. But as I expected, it was only fun for the first 5-10 minutes. Then I was pretty much hot lapping (tepid lapping?) the North Loop on my own. Did see some of the leaders on the southbound uphill stretch, but nothing that made it truly exciting. I make too many mistakes and I'm not on pace when I don't make mistakes... DNFAt least I didn't quit the lobby. I'll watch out for a multi-class event, but for now I'm sticking to playlists. Hey, it was the tireless practice I put in for the first NL endurance a year ago that made me a good racer from the below average racer I used to be. Think about your lines, try to feel the car. Greatness awaits. (Yeah I know it sounds stupid. ) I'd rather think about my lines racing the same race six times in a row, where I at least have to deal with other drivers and can maybe learn from what they are doing. Being a minute behind the next slowest person on a track like the North Loop for 30 minutes is just boring on top of being (IMO) a waste of time. I really don't mean to be negative. I know people enjoy endurance racing in this crew. I just don't.

An enjoyable and challenging race. iTwisterr and Renegade1911 are definitely in their own class, though. I'm sure posting the event with more than day of warning will help communication, and as our friends lists grow it'll be easier to contact other racers. EvilSmart, I'm glad you stuck it out. It can be demoralizing racing from the back. I do agree, though, that playlists with shorter races can be a lot of fun. I'm sure someone could organize something like that.

Why did I never get an invite?.... Or at least I never got one, could have messaged me on the social club, very disappointed. Somebody please answer the man! Although I find it most likely that it was a mistake. Never the less he was on the attending list and didn't get an invite, should not happen IMO.

I think it was a mis count of participants, since some others got invites that weren't in the event. You were on the list so you should have gotten one, hopefully this won't happen next time around. Anyways here are the results:

By the time we were starting I still didn't see you in my friend list. If it didn't come through I apologize. I also went and invited everyone in the crew through the game inviting system separately. To no avail, it seems.

I never had you added, I could see your name in the crew list, but you and what appeared to be most of the other crew members showed up offline. I'm just going to to write this one off and put it down to the shoddy matchmaking/lobby system of GTA V, it's quite terrible and hasn't seen any real improvement since its inception in 2013 on 360/ps3. Here's looking forward to the next event!

How was the race?

Great race. I started quite good, than made some mistakes and dropped back in positions. It's crazy to crash in corners you have never crashed before despite no influence of traffic... Got better after the sun came up (looked wonderful when you go over the apex of the hill). I nearly broke my PB lap in lap 9 and catched up 2 or 3 other cars after racing lonely for 15 to 20 minutes. Unfortunately I missed my goal (finishing) by just one corner. I need some more practice to get my Turismo under 5 minutes and of course better consistency I'm looking forward for more events like this.
Connectionswise it was fine. One other car I saw was lagging a bit, but I think that's unavoidable in crosscontinent racing.

Did anyone get to take a picture of the time board afterwards? I'd like to see peoples times, so I can get an idea of how slow I am ;-)

Still can't believe I was the fastest Turismo there, considering I just bought it not long ago.. That 4:56 is faster than anything I thought I would ever get, lol.

Maybe I'll make an attempt to act as a cameraman/spectator for the next one, unless there is a full lobby of people wanting to race.

EvilSmart, i do agree with you. That's why I only do endurances on fairly short tracks (so you get to be lapped some more, traffic from behimd is traffic too.) or if they are with a vehicle which is not used all that often (mt. Haan in picadors, or the bifta endurance for example. Or Alex_Drastisch's Dakar rally, that was really fun! Even if your last and sure you won't finish, endurance can be fun, but not if you're driving alone for 90% of the time. Still kudos for sticking to the end!
