Hi! I created this poll as I'm sure a lot of you play or have played older GTA games and enjoy them. I thought it would be fun to see who would be the most popular protagonist. I hope you enjoy taking part.
Thank You

I accidentally picked Huang Lee. I meant to say Franklin Clinton.

I reckon it's Niko. He's probably the most sympathetic, as is GTA IV's story overall.

Niko. A classic tragic hero. Also I think he has the most depth of all the GTA characters. Second would be Michael, Luis Lopez in 3rd place.

Michael, definitely. He is probably the coolest character. Second would be CJ with his facial expression that always says "The heck is happening?"

It's so hard to pick one specific character. If I had pick one character, I'd have to pick Carl Johnson from GTA: San Andreas. Although I don't like anything involving rap, I can respect the fact that he tries to better himself by getting out of the ghetto. CJ has to make tough decisions throughout the game. He has to kill his former friends Ryder and Big Smoke. He has to save Madd Dogg and his brother Sweet. From start to finish, you really connect with Carl and see how hard his life's been (with the death of his brother Bryan and his mother) and what he has to do in order to keep moving forward.
Runner up would have to be Claude from GTA 3. He never says a single word during the game but his actions say it all. Working for and then having to go against the Mafia. It's basically one big revenge mission against Catalina. And probably one of the funniest things I've heard in a GTA game, when he goes to talk to the one girl (I can't remember her name off hand) when they have to flee Liberty City she says, "Don't say anything!" Priceless. XD

Michael is definitely the classiest. My vote goes to him. Second would be CJ with his facial expression that always says "The heck is happening?" I can't remember which plane, but when CJ was piloting and you set the 3rd camera mode (front-bumper view, if I can call it that way for planes…), then you looked behind you, the camera would be very close to CJ's head and his poker face was hilarious.

Gotta love Nico Bellic. He had a different perspective on things in America, and the fact that he wasn't exactly sold on the 'American Dream' was funny. He also seemed to be a good guy deep down, whilst still being a general badass.

Glad you dug this up. Franklin for me. 2nd CJ. 3rd Niko Bellic.

Niko is the best written character.
Trevor is really underrated though. He's like the embodiment of how most people play GTA outside of missions. I enjoyed throwing bricks at random business men in GTA IV, but it didn't feel like something Niko would actually do. Trevor on the other hand, would totally spend his free time pouring gasoline on dead hippies even if I weren't in control of him.

After replaying TBOGT a couple of months ago I went for Luiz Lopez. Great to see him try to better himself from his background.
