Now, unless this is literally the first thread you have read on this forum, I'm sure you are aware that there are many different people from many different countries and many different time zones in the crew. I, myself, am Australian and so at any given moment I am either being screwed over by lag, time zones, or both.
I have often heard people talking about "today's race" or "yesterday's event" and this irritates me because more often than not, those sorts of statements won't be accurate in my time zone. The F360 races I run on 3pm UTC Saturday are actually on Sunday for me. So throughout Saturday I'll here about how people are going to be late to "today's" race. And that just simply isn't true for me. It's tomorrow!
This problem will also work in reverse, with people saying that "yesterday's race" didn't go well or whatever it is when often, it'll be the same day for me!
For this reason, I never say "today" or "yesterday" but instead I will use the term "this week". Now, I'm not saying that everyone should stop using terms that can be different in different time zones, but I just want people to be aware that today isn't always today.

I understand this can be quite confusing. Especially if the same people are in the same events together 2 or three days in a row. But (fortunate for me, and unfortunate for you) most people I play with are generally only 2 hours back or ahead, so most times it's still "today" It would be clearer though if people would say "last race" and "next race" or "today (sunday)" or something like that. If the world comes to an end, you'll be the first to know though

It get's even more confusing if an event or race is held around midnight. I quite often consider 0.30 as a late part of (for example) saturday-evening, instead of early sunday-morning. Edit. Let's put it this way, for me today is when I'm awake, yesterday is the time before I've slept, and tomorrow is gonna be the day after I've slept. Time-traveling is a bitch

I'm not really sure what your issue is?I'm pretty confident most of us are aware that it could be another day in another country. If it irritates you that people in other timezones say they are looking forward to tomorrows race when it's today for you, then I think that's a problem on your end,not theirs.I'm not sure why it would annoy you,a very minor inconvenience maybe, but I think you'll just have to get used to it and grow thicker skin.

Thank you for your consideration. I recommend you read the final paragraph again.

Very good insight into this common problem. This is probably worse from the States to Australia. I will definitely keep an eye on how I word things now. I know I speak in relative terms to my situation, but will be mindful going forward. Thanks again for this thread.
