Why not start another playlist at a different time ? 8 at 20 minutes would 2 2/3 hours. meetmypyro may not have that amount of time to spare ? Longer races are also going to mean more DNF's for the back markers like me. With shorter races it's easier to drop in and out of the playlist as time allows. I'm not discounting your opinions at all but just think more playlists with different formats would be better than petitioning to change the only one we've got atm Instead of spreading people out on several playlists, which I'm not a fan of. Instead we could say that playlists on 3/7 days of the week (maybe on Tues, Turs and Sat) contains longer races and the 4 other days stays as they are atm. Pyro could have 2 different playlists, one for each purpose.

dondeef I like that idea, it's really nice. But I don't think it should replace that playlist as it is now. Maybe it can be sort of a thing where you alternate between them, example: One day you do the normal playlist, the next day you do this, day after that you go back to the normal playlist and so on so forth. EDIT: @hiberg beat me to it xD

People are spread out though. I know that once British Summer Time ends I will never be able to play, from the start, a playlist starting at 5pm UTC.
It's only my opinion but I can see benefits in having more daily playlists. Or at least trying it to see if it gains traction without diluting the original.
Of course it means having someone (or a small group) who is committed to, and able to spare the time to, running it everyday.

If a 2nd daily PL is to be established, I think that the time should favor some of the non european NoDo members. Such as the Americans or Asian/Australians. 2 playlists that favors the same continent isn't fair or even needed if you ask me.

With the playlist at the moment lasting about equal as long. It's just that I want to see the benefits that longer races bring. If, for example, meetmypyro decides to replace 3 or 4 races of the daily playlist with 2 longer races so that we have 6 short races and 2 long ones or 5 short races and 3 long ones, that would be cool too!

Actually I like this idea better than what I proposed earlier. By mixing the race length on a daily basis we're avoiding people selective joining the PL specific days depending on what type they prefer. EDIT: We are not splitting people up in two.

Don´t think to much just try it. If it works we can keep it. If it doesn´t we can go back to what we have.

I might have to try this mumble thing out. I turned off voice chat in GTAO after getting tired of having 12 year olds telling me what they were going to do to my mother.
Roughly what % of racers on the playlist are on mumble ?

I'd guesstimate at least 60% of the regular PC players are on mumble during the playlist, and a handful throughout the rest of the day dependent on who's doing what (heisting, racing, other games etc).

THERE WERE MORE PPL ON TS THAN ON MUMBLE. MUCK FUMBLE!
but back to topic. i was thinking of adding more laps to the races before. but you can also see that most people posting here are the more experienced ones, who already played 1h+ races. you have to think about the 'freshies', driving in 20-25th position in a stock car. i doubt that they enjoy those long a** races, and besides learning the track, there wont be too much learning and improving towards contact racing. and we also got a lot of events, which feature longer + more serious racing, and of course we still have the option to keep playing after the playlist, where we can set the options to whatever we want to.
we will have some more laps on 2-3 tracks as suggested, and see how it works. i will also announce the #TBT (i talked on TS about it a while ago) for next week, which i hope will bring some variety + balance as well.

dondeef I'm all for the idea of fewer but more competetive races with less crashes, but what I think really screws us over is the desync at the start of races. Every single race people (including me) complain about other people starting at "3" istead of "0" or some such and/or crashing into people in front of them who didn't start on time according to their screen. Generally there are wtfs involved in each start of the races. Now that might be a temporary issue due to the new update coming up or independence day update being back, but there have been sightings of it before. Another thing is that it may also be the peer-to-peer connection that doesn't want us to have fun. Whatever it is the solution might be to do a start at a designated time fixed by meetmypyro or whoever happens to be hosting and not when the race actually starts. That was a bit of ramble about the starts, sorry if that was a bit off topic, but it's just a thing bothering me.

i think the best start would be half-throttle launch on sticky bomb, lineup without any overtakes, then floor it after you're around the first corner.
