ICEMANOk guys, we now have 24 cars, a perfect grid size ahead of the racing season which starts this Friday at 10pm UTC. (for those unaware, because we have people in the Asia-Pacific region racing with people from Europe and the United States, we need a time that can be suitable for all parties and this was the best compromise). I have updated the opening post now with the full team roster. Reminder - teams must be running red neons for their #1 driver, and yellow for their #2. For the avoidance of doubt, #1 drivers are the first listed under any given team. Assumptions have been made for when a team is comprised of a driver returning from last year vs one who is new to the season, so the returning driver gets #1 spot. For example: Pfister Racing Team #5 Oh_Darn (NED) #6 Endersai (AUS) Oh_Darn is the #1 driver in the team and accordingly runs the red neons and I run the yellow: In the event that I have your order reversed, please let me know. GridsI am sticking with the random grid for now. There has been suggestion of a reverse grid but I see some issues with it, namely that it interrupts the flow of the two races. I will consider the reverse grid as we go though. I like to sign up. My teammate will be RapTor_X_. He'll post the specifics ones hes got his hands on the photo's. Here it is: PAWN & JEWELRY RACING racing Grotti Carbonizzare in yellow, black and red 24. RapTor_X_ (GER) 25 . Prutoog (BEL) EDIT: and I forgot something. I'm not available for the first date Oct 2nd. Rules say nothing about reserves. Do I need one? You don't need one, but it's best if you have the team in a position to score maximum points. I don't want the formalised reserve rule - i.e. you can only reserve for one team at a time. If people can reserve, that's great, and they can race for as many teams as they want.

Whiz Racing joining the competition!
After a successfull season in the MCEC iFruit Racing went into Cooperation with the Whiz Telefone Company. They will together sponsor a team for the 2nd season of the SATCC. With a suprise engagement for the SATCC champion ovivoJR "The Whizzard" they show the ambitions for the season. They set a very experienced driver alongside him with announcing Sugar_Free_Nos "The Whizguy" as the No.2 driver. The team will start with a Albany Alpha. The car provides great driveability but has to prove its potential in racing circumstances. #1: ovivoJR #2: Sugar_Free_NosP: brightorange S:matt black/matt white R: black/white

Hey Ender,
I would suggest a change in regulations for the 2nd race of a day. I think we could profit from a reverse grid of the finish table of race 1. What do you think?

Hey Ender, I would suggest a change in regulations for the 2nd race of a day. I think we could profit from a reverse grid of the finish table of race 1. What do you think? I've thought about it, but it means we just slow down as I piece together the 11 drivers from 13th to 24th place that R* won't show. I'll trial the collation of that data this weekend to see how it works, but go off the two random grids for now.

For the avoidance of doubt, #1 drivers are the first listed under any given team. Can you please change badloser and me on the list? We decided that I'm driver one and didn't know about this. We do not really care about who is driver 1 and 2 but we already made screenshots for our announcement.

Another change of plans... after mainly hotlapping tracks with a comet rather than a surano... I think kasumi and I will agree that the comet is the car we'd like to use on friday. So you can scratch surano off there and put Pfister Comet

OK, so - updated with the full team listing. Nice work guys - we have a grid of 24 cars, very F1-esque. A variety of chassis too - all 6 recommended cars are represented. Let's break it down a bit:
FACTORY TEAMS: Pfister Racing Invetero-RON Oil* Scuderia Grotti
(*Factory and title sponsor partnership)
CUSTOMER TEAMS - PFISTER: Swallow Racing Lampadati Racing
CUSTOMER TEAMS - ALBANY Whiz Racing Vangelico Racing Vanilla Unicorn Racing
CUSTOMER TEAMS - GROTTI Vinewood Pawn and Jewellery
CUSTOMER TEAMS - BENEFACTOR Team FlyUS
CUSTOMER TEAMS - BRAVADO Ponsoby's Racing Team Pro-Laps Racing
KEY CHANGES
So, this season, Benefactor have scaled back their involvement. They continue to supply one customer team with chassis and engines, but have wound up their factory team. Rumours suggest this was due to their involvement being tied to road car sales, which have increased. Others have suggested their inability to retain the Ovivo/Iceman partnership was the cause.
Bravado, facing sluggish North American sales, were forced to sell their operation to private equity concerns linked to haute couture powerhouse Ponsonby's, with shareholder, playboy, and San Andreas' answer to Herman Tillke DrKloden leading the charge.
However, Scuderia Grotti - makers of the beloved Turismo R, among other cars - have entered a team into the title. The scuderia obviously saw the benefits enjoyed by Benefactor and Pfister and decided to join them.
The big surprise this season has been the investment Albany Motors have made. Whilst not fielding a team of their own, they have obviously made generous deals with a number of local and national businesses to race their Alpha car. Pre-season testing has indicated the Alpha has a high level of traction and stability under braking, with modest understeer. Its biggest drawback is the power - it doesn't have the same output as the current favourite Pfister Comet and therefore can be outpaced on long straights. Albany are looking at ways to upgrade the car's power unit.
With a number of new faces in the driver market, the question on everyone's lips is - is this the season where the Comet shines, and can Oh_Darn make good on his promise to take the title from Ovivo? Can Ovivo defend in the Alpha, especially missing the first two races of the season?

I'm Allen James with Cloud Sports Racing, and I'm here today with drivers ahead of the start of the new season of the San Andreas Touring Car Championship.
With me today are: Sugar_Free_Nos (Wizz Wireless Racing); Sabertoothwolf (Invetero-RON Oil Racing); Oh_Darn (Pfister Racing Team); Bladecruiser (Ponsonby's Racing Team); Pezyby (Team Swallow) and The_Bad_Loser (Team FlyUS Racing).
First question then goes to Sugar_Free_Nos; you're partnered with the reigning driver's champion, OvivoJR and have managed to secure his former Benefactor team-mate, fab.ICEMAN, as a reserve for the opening events of the championship. How are you feeling ahead of this season?
Nos: I'm feeling good. As an American, I'm not one for doing the hard work myself, so for this season, I decided to go with someone who I knew could carry me to the top. At first, I was dismayed to hear that ovivoJR would be away on a cruise (not sure why he would go on a boat if he could drive one in this championship), but when fab.iceman threw his hat in for a reserve, I knew he was the right man to carry me through these first two races.
How does the Alpha feel, when compared to your Banshee from last season?
Nos: Consistent. You know exactly what it's going to do and how it's going to do it in every single turn. The Alpha loses out on a bit of power, and the mid-drive isn't as effective as the Banshee's, but you really have to work in order to get it to spin or lose control. Also, being the pinnacle of American class, the big cup holders are nice.
Thank you. Over to you, Sabertoothwolf. A solid first season in the Coquette, finishing in the top 5. Now you're driving with former Pfister driver Chilli, giving you two solid drivers in the lineup. What's the plan for this season?
Saber: <Saber responds with a blank stare as if gazing into the void... Invetero RON OIL Racing rep Phil Shifley steps in> "Don't mind him, he hasn't been the same since the accident.. the death of his teammate Asploit is most unfortunate. With the commendable result from season one our main aim is once again for consistency from both of the drivers. Our sponsors tirelessly threaten work with our drivers to ensure they are in peak condition for the upcoming races.
Do you see any podiums or wins this year for the team? Invetero and RON Oil obviously have a lot of faith in the venture, and would expect results no?
Saber: Phil Shifley: "Our sights are firmly set on podium results and no less, with our driver slave er training program and the power of the best American engineered race cars we can ensure fast and reliable results unlike certain lesser competitor "race cars" *Phil scoffs* that will not be mentioned."
Now to Oh_Darn. You were originally brought in testing for Pfister last year before the team was able to secure you a reserve spot with Nutsaki racing, and then securing you a race seat with the team. Now you're the #1 driver in Pfister - can you keep that momentum going forward and challenge for some wins?
Oh_Darn: Hehe, good question.. I think we will find out when the season starts. I came to Pfister Racing to win races, I wont be happy if I don't succeed in doing so. With less Surano teams and the reigning champion driving a boat, I think there are possibilities for some good results for the Comets.
How does the Comet feel relative to the Surano?
Oh_Darn: I feel more like I have to tame a beast now, ehm, more like i'm being driven, hehe. It is very hard to keep the Comet under control while still being fast and consistent. I enjoy this car much much more than the Surano.
Thank you. Bladecruiser, on to you if I may. Driving a Banshee again this year, albeit for a renamed team after Ponsonbys bought out the Bravado factory team. Does it feel the same or different this year?
Blade: After a disappointing opening weekend last season due to technical issues with the cars, this one is already off to a great start under the new name. There's definitely pressure here that wasn't present with our former owners, since one of the buyers has decided to step into the driver's seat of the number 2 car. But overall, it's certainly a step up from the sinking ship that ended up being my former home.
Your car is known for its mid-drive boosting capability. Do you see anywhere on the Parson's Loop or Montreal circuits where that will be an asset for you?
Blade: The Banshee is a beautiful work of American machinery. I've already managed to put in some practice sessions around Parson's, and I'm confident that despite our weaknesses, the cars will be more than powerful enough to pull ahead in key areas where others lag behind or get bogged down. As you know, I've had the pleasure of racing around Montreal before, even in this very same car, but this year's race should go much better for me as the mechanics that were added to the team with the buyout have already worked out the technical kinks that caused multiple slow downs during last season's race.
Pezby, last year you were a reserve for Team Speedophile. This year, a full fledged race driver at Team Swallow. What are your goals for the season?
Pezby: To race every race and do my best to achieve points to help out my awesome team mate mrri0es. Last season being a reserve was great, but not having a full time drive, i didnt practice or work with mechanics to achieve optimal results. This season contracted to Swallow Racing im obligated to perform better or i will find myself out of a car for future seasons. Good luck to all.
You're driving a Comet, which is one of the favoured cars for the season. Do you see Swallow being a podium contender this year?
Pezby: fter last season learning to drive the comet i feel alot more confident in the car. I will need to practice and tweak settings to get the most out of the car. I would love to see Swallow achieve podium places. There are some great drivers in the event, so podium places will be hard to come by.
Onto the Bad Loser - you are one of the only teams to race the Surano this year. How does it compare to the Coquette, and do you see it being dominant again this year?
Loser: I anticipate being on four wheels more often so that in itself could be an improvement. We're currently very happy with the selection and equally hopeful that it's established performance and durability are something we can take advantage of. Whether or not my teammate and I can extract the kind of performance from the Surano that previous drivers and teams were able to do is something only time will tell.
You are the only team to retain both drivers and sponsors from last year. What have you and your team mate learned from last season that will give you the advantage here?
Loser: I'm very fortunate to have dnl_jackson as a teammate. He's a fantastic driver and an even better teammate. I think it's safe to say that we're both happy to continue being a part of Team FlyUS as well. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. Literally they're airfare rates were unbeatable. As for what we learned last season; good communication and an understanding of each another's strengths and weaknesses help us to do better on the track. We're both hopeful that last season's trials and tribulations can help us improve as drivers this season.
Back to you Nos - any pressures on your shoulder, with a world champion as your team mate? Surely he wants to retain his title, so are you expected to drive in a manner which supports his bid?
Nos: None at all. This season should be smooth sailing for me. Nothing is expected and everything is to be gained.
Oh_Darn: "Smooth sailing!" That much is right!
Oh_Darn, last year Chilli managed to beat the Benefactor Suranos to a win at the Cluck'in Bell track. Do you see yourself as being able to win one race this year, or do you think the Comet is strong enough for more?
Oh_Darn: Like I said earlier, I came to Pfister to win races. If I knew beforehand that it would be impossible, I wouldn't have signed to race for this team.
Thank you gentlemen.
