2016 Grotti F1 - Mirrors Edge Information

Track Restrictions:
Make sure to follow the common rules for curb-boosting (see rules section). Sidewalks are considered as part of the track. You are allowed to drive onto sidewalks with all 4 wheels. Just make sure you do NOT curbboost more than once per lap on the same curb!!! Penalties will be dealt with just like previous races.
Safetycar Regulation
Due to the large amount of safetycar situations on Zan-Cudochamps there is an adjustment to the safetycar rule:
If there is a major incident involving 4 or more cars there will be a safety car deployed. In this situation every driver has to ease of the gas and line up behind the safety car. Overtaking is NOT ALLOWED during safety car period. Cars that have been lapped by the leaders will get a signal to relap themselves once the field has settled behind the safety car. Once everybody is in the right order behind the safety car the safetycar will be called in and the driver in position one will lead the pack. Overtaking is then allowed from the finish line OR a specific announced part of the track.
I also want to clarify some situations that I noticed caused confusion while driving under safetycar conditions:
1. OVERTAKING is absolutely forbidden under safetycar conditions! As you can see in Vixtro his video, he calls out Ganjalo to regain his position during safety car, because Vixtro caused Ganjalo to crash just before the safetycar was called.
In this example Vixtro ends up 2 cars infront of Ganjalo. In such a situation he needs to wait for Ganjalo even if the safetycar is called. Ganjalo is NOT allowed to overtake during safetycar. He has to stay in the position he re-entered the field after his crash (even if he was not at fault). Therefore Vixtro has to wait for Ganjalo because he caused him to crash. If this means that Vixtro looses 2 positions to the drivers inbetween him and Ganjalo than that is his own fault for causing the crash. This is the basic rule of waiting for somebody you have crashed. It is part of the NODO Guidelines and also counts for safetycar periods.
Remember: Nobody is allowed to overtake during safetycar! If you have to wait, you have to wait!
2. Loosing positions due to a crash which causes a safetycar period. This situation counts for Superstepa_ who had a crash that caused a safetycar period. He regained the position he was in before the crash. This is not allowed. If you are involved in a crash were prior you are in 2nd and a due to the incident you end up in 5th behind the safetycar then that is your new position. The purpose of the safetycar is NOT for you to regain position BUT to minimise the disadvantages of the crash. If the person that caused the crash is infront of you then that person has to WAIT for you (see example 1)
3. Passing people after the safetycar has been called out. In this situation you have to give back the positions you have gained after the safetycar has been called out. Drive off to the site and wait till everybody that should be infront of you has passed you and then rejoin the pack.
THIS rule does not count for cars that are crashed at the side of the road. If cars went off the track and you pass them under safetycar conditions because they haven´t managed to rejoin the track again then you DON`T have to give back the position. An example of this can be seen here:
The safetycar has been called out because cars have crashed infront of Blade died for our sins . He passes those cars under safetycar conditions while they still recover from the crash they had. He then lets them pass him on the main straight.
In this situation the driver passing the cars involved in the incident should NOT give back the position because he gained those position legit. The cars that were involved in the crash need to re-enter the track carefully and settle behind the safety car in their new position. If the driver who cause this crash is infron of them he has to wait (see example 1)

I would be able to reserve on Friday. I'm currently at 2:20 min after 2 short practice runs, so I don't mind if you pick the faster reserves first.

2016 Grotti F1 Mirrors Edge - Qualifying Results
Progen Motorsports obtains 3rd pole position in a rowProgen Motorsports has again shown its ambitions to win the 2016 Grotti F1 title. This time Madderose secured the first pole position for himself this season. He demolished everybody by an extremly quick laptime that was more than half a second faster than the second fastest driver _ShediM_ . He quoted: "I had great confidence in the car today and this clearly shows that our FPS (fuel power supply) upgrade worked very well. We should have a good chance to win tomorrow." Third place goes to Benefactor driver Superstepa_ . Again a solid drive under the top 3. An interesting constellation for the upcoming race tomorrow!  - CLOUD Sports -

2016 Grotti F1 FPS RecommendationI just want to remind everybody that there is a huge difference in the speed of cars when exceeding 100fps. This has been tested by CHILLI prior to the last race at Zan-Cudo and can gain a driver a great advantage. Due to this situation we all agreed on a gentlemens agreement to minimise the effect of the FPS boost. I just want to ask everybody to do their best to regulate their fps to no fluctuate above 100fps. This can be done by using vsync on 60hz monitors and framerate limiter on 120hz and higher monitors. I am aware that I cannot force anybody to follow this recommendation, but I have faith in the participants of this event to follow this guideline. We are here to find the best driver in this crew and we want to keep it fair for everybody. Thank you for your comprehension. - ovivoJR -

Team Taco Bomb driver Jahnney362000 was apparently having transmission issues during qualifying. He said, "it didn't really matter as I hadn't practiced much and, judging from my performances at the first two races, wasn't going to be that fast anyway" Taco Bomb technicians were unable to release a statement on whether the car would be fixed for raceday although it has been hinted that the cause is poor programming of engine software. Amazing how fast you guys are... I might have beaten Pezby's time, but that's it.
Since he isn't racing tomorrow, I might leak here that arken even got a 2:12.3 in free practice earlier today.
I'm looking forward to the race tomorrow as last minute reserve or as multiple stream watcher.

Thank you for your comprehension. - ovivoJR - Last week my understanding was you were asking us to turn on vsync, which i did, but i was vsynched at 120hz, which was my setup for qualifying today. Just to confirm, you're asking those of us with higher hertz monitors to ensure fps do not exceed 100 fps? So 100hz with vsync on is within the recommendation? |
