2016 Grotti F1 FPS RecommendationI just want to remind everybody that there is a huge difference in the speed of cars when exceeding 100fps. This has been tested by CHILLI prior to the last race at Zan-Cudo and can gain a driver a great advantage. Due to this situation we all agreed on a gentlemens agreement to minimise the effect of the FPS boost. I just want to ask everybody to do their best to regulate their fps to no fluctuate above 100fps. This can be done by using vsync on 60hz monitors and framerate limiter on 120hz and higher monitors. I am aware that I cannot force anybody to follow this recommendation, but I have faith in the participants of this event to follow this guideline. We are here to find the best driver in this crew and we want to keep it fair for everybody. Thank you for your comprehension. - ovivoJR - Last week my understanding was you were asking us to turn on vsync, which i did, but i was vsynched at 120hz, which was my setup for qualifying today. Just to confirm, you're asking those of us with higher hertz monitors to ensure fps do not exceed 100 fps? So 100hz with vsync on is within the recommendation? Basically the everything exceeding 100fps will make you faster. So if your not satisfied with 60fps gameplay than set it to 90 or 100fps. Whatever suits you the most. The issue is if you have a 120hz monitor the vsync will most likely set itself to 120. if you can´t hit 120 it will flucuate with the next lower setting. That´s when you get a boost. To avoid that it needs to be somewhere below 100fps if possible.

To avoid that it needs to be somewhere below 100fps if possible. Just a note to those with high performance monitors - vsync on = whatever your hz is / vsync half = half of whatever your hz is. So if you've got a 144hz monitor, set it to half and you'll be good. Same for a 120hz monitor.

If only stutter boosts were a thing, I'd be the fastest person here

When I did a few runs side by side with 2 other people the boosts started to kick in around the 115-150fps range. To be sure I'd say try to lock the game to the most stable framerate you can achieve in the 90-110fps range. If you ever see it go above 110 try turning up a few settings (image scaling in advanced and MSAA/TXAA are very power hungry settings) to bring the peaks down. Alternatively if you dont have a fps counter you can do what bladecruiser suggested above. If the game's own Vsync appears to feel stuttery you might be able to get smoother framerate through the driver panel (I can confirm that this works quite well with Nvidia cards, no clue about AMD though). This actually limits the performance of the game despite being done outside the game, so it shouldnt matter what method you use to cap the framerate. For Nvidia cards it requires you to restart the game before the new settings take effect.

MSI Afterburner/Evga Precision are good for limiting FPS as well.

Disappointing to see that the fps make you earn more than the driving skill. I may not deserve first slot on the grid, and will lock FPS to 100 instead of 120, but I made many laps under 2:13:300 in practice, and I hit a 2:13:4 also in the qualifying before this huge lap. So top 3 is completely legit and it's not a huge gap, as shown in Yellow Jack. And Arken is faster than me anyway. Don't complain about skill here, for the race, you need racing and good drivers skill anyway And again, this issue wasn't fps related. I believe the game engine is doing stranges things with respawn sometimes. Sometimes you get a understeery car, sometimes it's normal, sometimes it's better. youtu.be/arBfmq55BHYMy lap

We should not only have a Pitwatcher, but also a Chokewatcher, who counts how many chokes there will be on that fast lefthander near the gasstation because of the prop on the exit of the corner.

What about laghitting poles? That is what I try to avoid. If you know your lagging then you want to go straight on a straight instead of crossing lines with a bunch of lightpoles. It is your own decision what you`re gonna do.
