I don't even recall since when it's "in" to let the other driver on the outside space. Like 6-7 years ago, if you were overtaken by someone on the inside, and you were outside, and demand space, you were fucked. You had to brake, you had to take a different line, you had to adapt. Now, even in F1, if you get overtaken inside, but you stick on the outside till the corner ends, you can demand the space (remember the radio calls by Alonso several times.. "all da time you hav to leav da space") this wasn't imaginable like 10 years ago. You're outside = you lost it was back then. Now you have to actually take a slower line, only to allow the guy you just overtook inside, to overtake you outside again, because he has more torque-movement out of the corner.

Yeah, I see it now, after watching the footage again, he is indeed in front when he gets into the corner. Thanks for explaining.

That's ok Ganjalo, better we discuss and share. And provided drivers can do it right, the late brake overtake can be a really useful move to pull off. I do it all the time in ProjectCARS and SabertoothWolF will 200% of the time close the door on me when we both go into a corner in GTA because he knows if he doesn't I will overtake him that way.

I'm usually defending on the outside, because you have the cleaner tarmac (not in GTA sadly), so you can break later. Well if the 2 cars still side-by-side (rear wheel don't pass the front) the guy on the inside have to give enought space on the outside. Holding the outside line is really hard, and really impressive. Cutting back is really effective too.
If you try to overtake on the inside, you need to pay attantion that if you don't pass the opponent you need to leave space. If you don't pass, and can't leave space, because you have too much speed, that is a dive.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I also don't remember any controversial move. And you guys are discussing the crap out of it I was lagging a bit so that might have played a role.

Well to be fair Jeff, the issue was more around overtakes of that nature.

Well to be fair Jeff, the issue was more around overtakes of that nature. yes, true. And I had no problem whatsoever with that overtake. It was actually a nice battle and one of the few things I enjoyed in that race. Btw the crash that ended the battle was caused by ovivo laghitting me which made me lose control for the brakingzone and me still trying to brake really late.

im with doom for that. Its just a different conception of the whole thing (driving and relating to your opponent). I would've waited for the next breaking zone, but the overtake was 100% legit and ovivo did nothing wrong; he waited enough for him to recover. In a serious competition like mcec i probably would've done exactly like him.

Wow, discussions haha The overtake as it was done on the top of that hill was clean to me, especially since jeffrey moved to the outside by himself, giving ovivo the inside. I was just thinking that jeffrey would've probably/possibly been able to keep in front if it wasn't for the crash and he got the chicane right because i saw earlier at 1:25 (quite a huueeee - bunch up), madderose was able to defend in pretty much the same situation in same car. verlierer is stronger on that uphill part to me anyways but that's a different matter because i was able to defend in sultan against faster cars now and then. So like doom said, i would've thought that ovivo wouldve had to let him be in front for the straight and wait for the next corner to try overtaking again. Edit: I'm only mentioning this to confirm my knowledge and because in this race when this happened to me in jeffreys spot, it really changed the race for me. I was laghit too though and it's my fault for not having a mic, he didn't hear my horn so i don't really blame him and got over it.

I've only had 2 runs at it. Best was a 1:24 with 1:25 constants but this was over 6 laps. Ran with Nos the other day, and was only getting 1:26s.
The Comet is a handful here and I need to work out suspension settings to combat natural body roll. Plus there's a nasty bump in the road at the second intersection after the freeway offramp - just past the hairpin - that costs me time.
If I can bed down suspension issues my assumption is... 1:23 is doable.
