I have spent a good part of the night looking through broughy's videos and have come out the other side slightly unsatisfied in terms of knowing my competition. I know the best in each class now, and greatly appreciate his work in that regard. But now I want to know how open some of the classes are, which classes it makes sense to own multiple cars in, which cars I need to watch out for on what types of tracks, and overall just the viability of alternates to the top cars in each class.
In general terms we know now that:
- Coupe's is pretty open between the Zion, Exemplar, and Felon.
- Muscle is pretty open between the Dominator, Blade, and to a lesser extent the Ruiner
- Super is not all that open, though the Entity is still alright next to the Zentorno.
- Sports would be fairly open if it weren't for the Elegy. The Massacro is a bit above the rest, but not like the Elegy is. If it weren't for those two the Feltzer, Comet, 9F, and Surano, would make the class awesome.
- Sports Classics seems to be dominated by the Z-type, though I know a lot of people here use the Pigalle. Broughy's videos mention that when fully modded it is basically on par with the Monroe at nearly 2 seconds off the pace. But I just don't know what to think. The new Coquette is definitely close to the pace if not on top of it.
- Offroad is pretty closed for the Sanchez, though the bifta isn't too far off after the spoiler update.
- Utility is the most closed with the Sadler on top.
- Compacts is pretty open with the Rhapsody, Blista, and Panto
- Sedans are dominated by the schafter
- Bikes are pretty open for the Bati and Akuma depending on the track
- SUVs are pretty closed for the Huntley
- Vans are one I am unsure about. Apparently the Bison is the best by is it open or closed in a fully modded race. I am mostly wondering about the Minivan and Youga when fully modded.
For top speed:
Adder
Z-type
Dominator
Massacro? Carbonizarre?
Huntley?
Bati? Sovereign?
Bison? Clown van?
As you can see there are a lot of gaps here. Obviously I don't value this straight line speed sort of knowledge as much as what broughy's videos provide, but that doesn't mean it isn't useful to know.
Where some cars dominate one track, they might suffer in another. I'm sure you get the picture. A lot of this enquiry stems from the lack of this type of discussion in broughy's videos and the fact that there are very few times posted for fully modded vehicles. It has already been shown that some cars do in fact get more out of modification than others (Radius over Baller, Zion over Exemplar and Felon), especially now with the spoiler update.

So what classes do you own multiple cars in and why? What do you know about the viability of other cars in each class? Which classes are more open than Broughy's videos would suggest? What makes you decide to pick one car over another in any given race? Consistency? Top speed? Tight Corners? List your multicar classes and which cars you own below.
