I am still getting used to starting in packs. One thing that is handy to know and practice for first corners: different lines! When you are side by side with someone, you know they also have to go through the corner, so anticipate on the space their car will need. Then you can pick your own piece of tarmac. If you were in a green car (and Aj as well I believe? Not sure, I have only seen a video) then I can tell you one other thing: people are going to be slow through the first corner! You need to look further ahead to see what the car in front of you is going to do, but also the car in front of them. Because the car directly in front of you will react of the car in front etc etc. Practicing a track isn't just hotlapping! It's taking in the view, finding reference points for braking zones, turn-in and track-out points, but also learning every piece of tarmac, bumps etc. Knowing this will make you feel more at easy throughout a race. Take different lines through a corner during practice, even when you're on your own. Imagine someone driving next to you, and you both don't want to hold back (or can't because there are 7 others right on your rear). This will let you know at what speed that line could be taken, so you can learn roughly how fast everyone will drive through that dangerous first corner, being side by side. It will be easier to adapt during a real racing situation and of course allowing you to focus more on what's happening around you than how to drive your car. My own first corner of the race: Starting at pole made me very nervous as I knew others would definitely overtake me at some point (they're just faster). My start was bad, first corner was alright but I lost a lot of speed, and I was in 4th position after that. But still racing and no contact was made! I'm too cautious myself, which could mean I brake check someone that doesn't expect me to be THAT slow. But that is just anticipation and balls, I suppose. Oh well, I hope my info helps. Tell me if I didn't make any sense at all! Baseline: know how to take different lines than 'the optimal' and most of all, sticking to it! Anticipation is a virtue.

Yeah, I'm aware that I made a mistake on that first corner. This was only my second ever event (the first was not nearly on the scale of this) and while that's not a good excuse, I am still getting used to starting in packs. In the other race, the first corner fuckery was kind of brushed off as "it's gonna happen" and so no one waited. This time, while I, of course, tried to avoid contact in the first corner, When it happened, I didn't wait for the same reason. So my bad. The third corner I choked in an effort to avoid crashing into someone and unintentionally caused a wreck. And I waited after that wreck. So I choked, everyone does, my nerves got me and I paid for it with my position in the race, but thanks for pointing it out No worries, we all learn from these things. I'm sorry for calling you out like this, I shouldn't have done that. Was kinda clarifying why I didn't wait but I did it in a bad way. I have removed what I said, and if you want you can do so as well from when you quoted my post. Good luck with the preparations for round 2! Hey, I appreciate it. I was just still a little salty about it. I didn't want to put up such a bad showing. (especially because dangalangtyme and I are friends in real life and I REALLY wanted to beat him haha). Here's to a better round 2.

Only way to slightly beat them is to be confident about the car and track I suppose

I really need some practice on RON raceway - tried it for the first time last night and i did not complete one single lap without going the wrong way at some point. I just can get the route into my head.
I slow down for corners that are flat because i think its a different turn. Or do the opposite and miss a checkpoint. Missed 3 checkpoints in one lap.
Must be getting to old for this.

Just slower I think you wanted to say more consistent To be truthful, i think i am more consistent than before. Working hard on that. I actually think that the more people improve over time the further i drop back. I just dont have the time to test the tracks and practice. I struggle with all the little extra techniques like using the right stick, curb boosting, double clutch (or whatever you want to call it). I would like it better if it was more realistic. This game would be so much better if curbs slowed you down and it was more about your racing line instead of how many time you can drive off the road and zigzag across the track to gain speed. In reality this would be the slowest way around a track. Just ignore me - just stuck in my old ways

It'll all be about the racing line and racecraft. Maybe watch the supercar showdown so you can kinda figure what the best lines are

I definately need a lot of practise on RONR too. I'm not a big fan of the track. Anyone up for a practise session?

Will time of day be set for "Current" on R.O.N. Raceway? Or will it be set to noon?
