That was an amazing comeback. I watched a formula 1 race after months of absence since it was so one sided. But to see a wet race and also an amazing drive from Verstappen. He was in a league of his own, although he didn't win, he did the best driving, by far. He's young and cocky sometimes but this was definitely one of the must watch racing performances. Kinda sad that Massa couldn't finish his final home Grand Prix, but at least he had a lot of support. And finally, I'm happy that Force India got a huge lead over Williams now.

Max Verstappen that's what I like to see. Magical driving today, best drive I've seen since Hulkenburg on this same track many years ago. Would've loved to see what would happen if he was near Merc. They obviously weren't pushing but I think he could've had Rosberg in 4 or 5 laps. Saddest part was Nasr. God damn you Manor back to bottom and £33m less funding Great race though, even with the red flags

Massa's crash actually led to a beautiful moment with him being honored by everyone. Life's delightfully strange in its twisty paths sometimes. I enjoyed seeing that as welk Max did an extraordinary drive and with a better strategy he might've been a severe challenge to Lewis. But I've seen some unsafe reentry and squeezing that maybe would've allowed his opponent to call him out and make him wait in a Nodo race I hope with his skills honing, he becomes even more impressive, while his aggressiveness becomes a little less brute. Then he'll be truly a driver to look up to. On another note: it pained me to see Grosjean. No driver deserves to endure such a moral low punch into the privates

The broadcast director had a very easy job the final 16 laps What a great performance from Max. I get what you mean drknut.. I thought Vettels radio was ironic as a few corners earlier, he would have pushed Max of the track in a similar way, had he not backed out. None the less, it was gutsy but it worked out. The standing ovation for Massa was beautiful.

I think the weather conditions played a part in the penalty decisions. Driver error would have been higher and the spray meant it was harder to see each other.

Such big hypocrits at Mercedes. Before the race they say the drivers are free to race, but during the race they're telling Hamilton to drive faster. And after the race Lauda and Lowe said that Hamilton needs to explain his pace. Are you f*cking kidding me?

I enjoyed Hamiltons tactics. Too bad Vettel wasn't able to overtake him to make it a little more exiting. No mistakes made by Rosberg while under presure. Well done by him.

Mercedes were right to question him.

It's also not the greatest display of sportsmanship. Backing another driver up into opponents is a bit frowned upon. (Not amongst his fans, I guess... ) Together with him not growing tired of emphasising that he lost the title only due to technical failure, he isn't the perfect embassador for the brand Mercedes-Benz right now. And frankly, that's what Merc is paying him for. Because they wouldn't have had any trouble finding another driver to win the title in this car in the last few years. So it's kind if logical that the bosses aren't too pleased with him

No, Lewis did what he had to in defence of a title. He had to put Rosberg at risk, that's all there was to it and I think that's the view Mercedes will rightly take. Also, given how reclusive and conservative Rosberg is, I don't think he's as much of a brand ambassador as Lewis is. He, like Vettel, is fairly private and reserved.
Ross Brawn's words echoed with me after the race; Lewis is easily the better driver than Nico. But Nico doesn't stop fighting. He knows Lewis is quicker. He knows Lewis has the edge. And still he puts in effort, learns, and delivers consistently. That is why he deserved it. He doesn't stop pushing himself.

that's all there was to it and I think that's the view Mercedes will rightly take. That's not the view that Wolff has taken. Btw.: wouldn't it have been awesome if that would've been the real speed of the Mercedes cars throughout the season? Just a notch ahead of the Red Bulls and Ferraris? Makes for very entertaining races. According to Mercedes, Lewis was 1.5secs off the pace in the first part of the race. Which is why the team made a pit stop 5 laps earlier than scheduled, to defend against possible undercuts.
