MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Only one week to go until the event. Signups are REQUIRED to read the following carefully, please.
Also we are 3 regulars and 3 reserves short! tell everyone! :-)
Team summaries: GalantEvo , owner of JackSheepe Racing will be the first driver for JackSheepe, but is giving the host heart attack until the event start due to lack of information over the second driver. Be Lucky Autosports is putting in strong team with Zetmir and Eva . Limited Gasoline Racing Team is comprised of TimNijland3 and Val , with the second driver having been moved from Debonaire Motorsport; the team will now field the hot wheels jumps obsessed maccian and second driver Jeffmillz . We also welcome the Terroil Racing drivers Tonyborbony and Kalev . Debonaire's archrival Redwood Racing makes appearance with @funkasize and @novesori , with the team owner redlaserbm reserving for the last race. The pitmaster is reminded not to give extra pit stops to the Debonaire drivers. The future of Blarneys Stout Racing is unclear with Hertz , nrainier , and jsantospt with no one knowing which race they can make. Also race officials are busy sourcing new production cars for fleakkeren , but with the cheap officials not wanting to spend for a repaint, race officials would rather source a team first. Also we have Daleks (@darkalex45) Divait as reserves because why not YOLO etc. All drivers are encouraged to communicate to respective team owners if they do not have access to right colours.
Qualifying procedure: qualifying will now be held in morning weather to discourage pedestrians spawning. It will be 6 laps long. First lap is thrown away and also the last lap, so you really have 4 laps to put it together, which should be plenty. It is in non-contact and teams will be called out to drive one by one, with around 5 second gaps in between. Last lap you are required to stop and NOT FINISH. If you finish you will be disqualified from the qualifying. Car will be chosen by some random measure and this will be decided and announced only right before the event starts. You must use this car. If you choose any other car you are disqualified from qualifying.
Main race procedure: pit stops will be announced first. Then the pitmaster with safety car will do one formation lap (which will be very fast, these laps are very short) going THROUGH THE PIT. This will familiarize everyone with the pit procedure and the track in general. Pitmaster may also point out specific instructions for each pit at this time. In the formation lap we will try to get cars in one line in the grid order. So we will call people out and you follow the safety car, through the pit, and before the start of the second lap, you grid up. Grid will be spread out so it is encouraged to leave space. Race is then started by the safety car.
Grid orders: first two races -- by the lap time from qualifying, then the host (taking grid penalty due to knowing the track beforehand), then people who did not show up to qualifying. Last two races are based on individual standings by the end of two races. So race 1 & 2 have same grid, and so do race 3 & 4.
Car choice: as emphasized your car choice must be different. If you choose same car twice one of the results will be dropped -- if you choose the same car as in qualifying especially, then for that race you will be given worst "DNS" treatment over your qualifying. So don't. If issues occur and many people could not get the right car we may attempt a restart. But not more than that.
Sub procedure: If a team is subbing a driver, the replacing driver should still use what cars are available to the driver being replaced. For example, if the driver you are replacing has used jackal in any race, you cannot use jackal in any race. Grid positions are carried over between drivers.
General reserves: teams without team owner in the team will be given first priorities to use general reserve drivers, should the occassion arise. It is really up to discretion of the host. I will try my best to be fair.
FPS: You have two choices. If you are running a 60hz screen, you can use vsync or something else to lock the framerate to at most 90. If you are running a 120/144hz screen, you are required to lock it at 90fps maximum. Rivatuner or Dxtory are recommended. Please understand that if you are not using vsync 60fps lock, there is still a chance that your car may act faster, but it really should not change much. However if it does in one of those 0.1% of cases and you are aware of the fact that it is giving you somewhat significant advantage, then you are required to use your own conscience and dial the settings back to 60fps. Weird behaviour over the straights and corners will be recorded. Not following these instructions to lock framerate will result in disqualification from entire event, and worse.
Another announcement will be made detailing more stuff if needed, but frankly, this is all you need to know probably for the entire event. Also, keep checking nodo.freeforums.net/post/172856 for more information that may or may not help you. Regardless, I will update you with everything that you need to know by the time prelobby goes up. Hope this answers most of your questions.
