Due to the amount of new guys in regular spots, I highly encourage everyone to get a reserve spot because there will be people missing at raceday, I guarantee it.

If there are no shows I will try to somehow compact teams to 8, then 7, so if there are up to four people missing we are still good to go. But otherwise, yeah, I would really like at least 2 guys who can still make it. I am ok with missing some teams, but I wouldn't feel easy about making someone race in team without a teammate. So ye, in short, looking for reserves.

Your legal team won't be getting around that now!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT
FPS: You have two choices. If you are running a 60hz screen, you can use vsync or something else to lock the framerate to at most 90. If you are running a 120/144hz screen, you are required to lock it at 90fps maximum. Rivatuner or Dxtory are recommended. Please understand that if you are not using vsync 60fps lock, there is still a chance that your car may act faster, but it really should not change much. However if it does in one of those 0.1% of cases and you are aware of the fact that it is giving you somewhat significant advantage, then you are required to use your own conscience and dial the settings back to 60fps. Weird behaviour over the straights and corners will be recorded. Not following these instructions to lock framerate will result in disqualification from entire event, and worse. Just curious about this part, had suspected FPS over 60 may contribute to some speed boosts from my own experience, has anyone done any testing on that though? I happen to be relatively blessed in the FPS department so will probably have to lock it down in accordance with the rules. I do appreciate you setting the limit at 90 though as 60fps on a 144hz screen can be awfully choppy. PS go team debonaire! smoke up kids!

But without opening that whole can of worms I do believe 60fps lock on a 144hz screen can be somewhat unfair when the advantage is unclear for 90fps. Also another thing is people without 144hz screen can still use an external lock to whatever frame rate they may choose up to 90. It's what I would call relatively safe range. Personally I would have it up to maximum where it's not really known to produce that much discrepancy but for now 90 seems safe option. As a driver who uses in-game vsync to 60fps, I would say that is range where I know the race's result will most likely not change due to FPS alone -- very much unlikely, in fact. Ultimately, I don't want people to feel that they are in disadvantage over what probably amounts to minor difference. It's meant to be somewhat casual. I don't recall a 90fps lock ever done so I guess we will see how it goes. But in short, 90 was not easy to decide on at all. On the other hand if you don't have an external lock solution already I suggest everyone to check one out, as I believe rules regarding FPS may become more strict in future in all PC events.

I really hope that if GTA 6 develops a racing community like this game has that it fixes things like this. Having FPS be anything less than completely independent from the physics is like, the #1 sin of game development, especially on PC. Curb boosting should probably go too. The mid-drive I could live without although I can't deny how fun it is to use

Yeah I completely agree that race results would most likely not change due to FPS advantages especially in longer races but I believe in the interests of "no excuses" setting a reasonable limit sounds fair, Also agree Johnny about curb boosting, I myself try to only use it when the guy in front or behind is also using it to maintain the pace, if im racing with clear space i have no interest in curb surfing and would much rather focus on taking a realistic racing line.

I use curb boosting regularly (not weaving all over the track to get them but like, if there's a curb on or near the racing line I'll probably go for) mostly because I've accepted that it's part of the game. I do much prefer Sandy Shores track because of their complete lack of curbs but if it's a city track it's like not doing the L-cancel or wave-dash in Smash Melee #DefinitelyNotSaltyMyLandYachtsGetAlmostNothingFromTheCurbs

I had been unable to ensure that my schedule would be clear until this evening but I have been able to make it happen and would like to be put on the list if anyone is willing to risk being paired with my slow ass

I have sent friend requests to make tomorrow smoother. Also I would like to welcome ZedZedboi2k , GooeyGoose , nudeltime , Robodark , DaveYanakov . Please read over the procedure: nodo.freeforums.net/post/175113Reserves will be tagged tomorrow with spots available. I will reveal the tracks on this thread in 24 hours. Meanwhile, this may help you. Top speeds of stock coupes to be used: Cognoscenti Cabrio: 160.2km/h F620: 167.1km/h Felon GT: 157.4km/h Jackal: 163.5km/h Oracle: 164.0km/h Also I would like to remind people to be in their respective crews if you are using crew colours and they have to be active. You can check from first post whether you are using crew colour or not. As far as I know only people who do not have crews yet (not counting those who don't have them active) are Eva and DaveYanakov. In latter case @giordanop please send Dave invite for the crew?
