gta v racing on xbox one. Where do i start

I've just joined the forums yesterday and since then I am still confused on where I can find other crew members to race with on playlists. Of course since I'm new I might have not found it yet but I really want to start racing and from what I have heard from playlists are a great way to start but I don't know how to find them and how to find and join other playlist lobbies set up by other crew members.
