I've always wanted to participate in an event inspired by actual stage rallies. I'm working on it and would like to test my concept before announcing the full length event. This small experiment takes place right before the Sunday Cup, and it will last about 30 minutes.


What:

• First person rally races (pilot and copilot);
  
• Pilots are driving (o rly), copilots guide them through speech and/or in game arrows with the help of the minimap and the 3rd person camera (R on keyboard, Circle on PS controller, B on XBox controller);
  
• The track is a 5-minutes-ish point to point rally, designed to provide challenge for the driver and the copilot (uncommon roads, tricky checkpoints, sometimes even obstacles on the road);
  
• We'll play the stage twice so you can switch roles if you want;
• Cars are rally-themed (if only one crew member has the car, make sure to select him as a driver in the race lobby, then respawn to switch roles, ask me on TS if you're not sure what to do);
  
• Communication and consistency are key to success, pick a crewmate you have faith in because you might very well die somewhere along the road (pick whatever name you want for your crew);
  
• Crews will be assigned a crew channel (their car number) on TS;
• The copilot will be in charge of releasing the car at the scheduled time;
• Cars are released every 30 seconds from the starting point and their timer stops when they cross the flying finish at full racing speed;
• Times of the special stages are added together and the crew with the lowest total time wins.

Track: You'll see! (about 60% tarmac, 40% gravel)
Time: Noon
Weather: Clear
Race length: Less than 6 minutes point to point
Total race length: 2 x 15 minutes (upper range, 6 minutes point to point + 9 minutes accounting for the 15 x 30 seconds delay with staggered starts)

Class: Sports
Cars: Obey Omnis, Lampadati Tropos Rallye, Karin Kuruma (no Armored Kurumas), Karin Sultan, Karin Futo, Declasse Drift Tampa (open to suggestions)
Customs: On
Restricted modifications: No off-road tyres


Timetable:

• 4:45 PM: invites to the pre-lobby
• 5:00 PM: first race starts
• 5:15 PM: second race starts (replay), pilot and copilot swap roles if they want to
• 5:30 PM: we done alraedy

Start procedure:
Cars are released every 30 seconds from the start point. The copilot may provide a countdown through speech. Starting order is your car number.


Finish procedure:
The timer stops when you cross the flying finish at full racing speed. You can brake and come to a full stop after the stop point (2 tyre stacks after the flying finish) and wait for other racers to finish. A mini-game will determine who finishes first.




Spirit of the event:
The idea behind this event is not so much to be fast and to win but to have good fun with your crewmate discovering a new track, driving cool cars in first person without crashing everywhere, trying to communicate efficiently, and overall doing stuff that's different from our ordinary GTA racing life. That's why I really insist on picking a crewmate you enjoy playing with (and even better if you speak the same native language).

Really, if you can just share a good laugh in the cockpit with your friend, my job is done and I'm happy. And some people will have a good time trying to be the fastest guys while some people will just be happy to get to the finish line at their pace, that's perfectly fine, and that's why I opened the car selection from the Omnis/Tropos to the Futo.
