Not sure if there's any wrastlin' fans here, but CM Punk finally talks on why he left WWE. I'm about 50 minutes in and it's pretty good!

I am 7 minutes in and he is still (self)advertising, how long can this guy go on. He has always been a bit of an ass... But the WWE ran him into the ground like they do most of their athletes . Then fire them when they are spent. Vince is the bigger prick to me.

As a longtime MMA fan, I have to say this is pretty ridiculous by the UFC. I don't know much about CM Punk, but he's in his mid 30s with no previous fighting experience, and probably a ton of injuries from pro-wrestling. If it helps bring in more new fans to watch the actually skilled fighters, great, but it's still laughable considering the fantastic fighters out there that haven't gotten a chance in the UFC.
I assume they bring in someone with a similar experience level for him to fight. He'd be flat out destroyed by anyone on the middleweight/welterweight roster at the moment.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree! Other guys from wrestling have tried doing UFC and have gotten completely destroyed! It must be a thing to get more people to watch.

If you're thinking of the Lesnar signing, I have to say that's completely different for various reasons: a) Lesnar was a national champion in amateur (real) wrestling which is a great base for mma, b) he had to actually win a fight outside the UFC to get a contract, c) it's at heavyweight which is a way more shallow weight class, d) he was 29/30 years old not 36, e) he was a phyisical freak of nature athlete. This is completely unprecedented for the UFC, but other MMA organizations have done similar things in the past.

ossiru, I was actually referring to Batista But I agree Lesnar was and is pretty impressive. But (if I remember right, I could be wrong), he got completely destroyed in his first fight didn't he? iAP3XPRED4TORi, that's a link saying CM Punk will be joining UFC.

Oh, don't know about Batista. He's not in the UFC though. Lesnar lost his first fight, but he was actually dominating his opponent (Frank Mir) on the ground until he got caught in submission. He beat Mir and won the belt in the rematch, but got annihilated by Cain Velazques and Alistair Overeem.
