I wouldn't get too frustrated when trying to recreate a course. No matter what it wont be the same. You can however make a track inspired by a real life one. Simply figure out what it is about the track you want to recreate so special and rework the path so it all works. I spent about a month trying to recreate the Suzuka, but I was never satisfied with it. I went through 3 different locations and tweaked little things all the time, but it was never close to what it should have been. So I reworked the path at the best location and tried to keep the "flow" of the track similar to Suzuka and this is what I came up with. Sunabouzu I'm pretty happy with it. I'm not trying to say that people will automatically know it is inspired by Suzuka, but I do know that the 2 tracks have a very similar feel for the most part. Hope this helps. edit: I wish I could test the 2 tracks you got up there... Too bad I am on xbox

Ha ha. Thanks for the advice, but yeah it did mess with my head for awhile. Since this place has more enthusiastic creators out there, I wasnted to let them succeed where I couldn't...
I know I'm not the most effcient creator out there, so anything I do, someone can probably do a lot better.
In fact the second one was really more of an 'out of frustration' track, where I focused on the getting the layout than the feel...
Interestingly I was told by witnesses, that when I made that one (TopGear TestTrck Compact) I was wearing a 'face' and button-mashing. So not my most refined creation there. I posted it though since the layout is easy to remember and reasonably accurate (to my ability), but really small and kinda rough...
Sidenote: The title of the first was not one of the best, I think I'll rename it 'Dunsfold Inspired' later
EDIT: Nice, Sunabozu
I wish it was R* Verified so I could race it, since it's on Xbo and all

Think I might try my hand at this! the gradient of the ground is the trickiest part as the TG track is flat

Can't you just make it on the airport? Ir is that the same deal as Fort Zancudo?

Can't create races in either sadly. I tried the airport when creator first launched but that may have changed by now though

Nope sadly the airport cannot be used unless you set the start very awkwardly near the fence or something but then you wouldn't be able to create the top gear test track I immediatly found a good spot on the map at the airport but no R* for some reason does not allow it

We listen to the community! You asked and we answered!"

This is the top gear track I just made. It's hard to get it quite right but I like it. The main thing is having the wide roads bar the roads by gambon and baccarach. The corner by Bentley was a little tight so it goes across the pavement, there's a pesky lamp post to watch out for though. Hammerhead was created using some tire lines and using the median. let me know what you think socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/wLEXSgFxjk2TAAR8lRgUgg?platformId=2

NOTES TO KNOW ON MY TESTING:
I tested the track on three races One with crew members in a race(3 in this case) (standard, no catchup or slip) with supercars (non-custom), so all first impression are fair and it's a good test run as a competitve track One With the 'reasonably priced car' - Karin Astertrope, test for an average skilled lap (mine) aim 1.44 around +/-3sec One with a general supercar - Entity XF Alone I will use objective langauge as best I can
TRACK COMPARSION NOTES: Initial Followthrough/Wilson-Chicago: Good, downhill section, really gets the idea that the followthrough is still the highseed area of the course Bad, That tireline was on a blind hill,(see practice notes) Chicago: That was well hidden and felt natural, although a little wide, it actualy helps on this game Hammerhead: Good, easily identifiable as the Hammerhead Bad, Way tight and sharp, the turn is very instant rather than gradual (see practice notes) Bentley: Good, You can take it at highspeed Bad, So many obstacles, it messes with your mind (see practice notes) Bacharach/2nd to last corner: Nice and tight, But easily cutable (no spectacular offs here) Time achieved: For an average driver like me it's the right distance and speed to emulate a Sitg-like 1.44 in the RPC with reasonable skill, which is good, and that time iseasily beatable in a higher performance car
PRACTICE NOTES: Initial Followthrough/Wilson-Chicago: That Blind tire line really kills any speed, it was positioned so it isn't visible until the hill was cleared immediatley afterwards One racer even quit after their wipeout there, I think they either rage quitted or got the wrong impression of the track... It is recoverable and avoidable on other laps, but it does mean slowing down early, given the median and the hills combined = airtime in a race Hammerhead: Bad, Way tight and sharp, the turn is very instant rather than gradual (see practice notes) The slow down for the hammerhead and the time to go into it gradually is quite minimal, many crashed into the back or side of each other leading to crossing the tireline and a few half-flips, it really was a tight corner with contact very likely going into and through it It is however very achievable in a lone lap, so perhaps it just needs to be widened for competitive races Bentley: Those obstacles are super intimidating at highspeed, I personally avoided the lampost and found a clean line through it on the lone laps, however it was quite difficult outside the RPC to not slam the breaks into it. Various racers actually crashed into the trees and the station entrance respectively. it really is not confidence inspiring to keep accelerating through it, it's actually almost insane unless you don't mind wiping out
Overall: 7/10
The corners are a killer on first impressions, but after awhile you get used to it like anyother track The problems occur when you try to be competitve really As for the feel, you can recognise parts as TG inspired and others as just GTA race
---
There you go my objective opinion on your race MacLove, Nice work

Yeah thanks for the in depth review, really appreciate it. Will have another look when i get back from vacation. Hammerhead was wider but didn't think it was an accurate copy of tg test track so made it tighter. Bentley would have been tighter had i not put it across the pavement. Rockstar really need to have a tool to remove objects like lamp posts. Couldn't really do anything with the follow through unless i change the checkpoints somehow
