Kind of sad when Xbox one starts to sound better than a PS4... To be fair the profanities that are spewed out on a regular basis from PC players is pathetic. Then again, if you were using a mic then I expect it's no different. Disabling VOIP is the second most important setting, right after disabling camera shake  Or did u mean in general?^^ |

I just don't think Sony wants to work with Xbox since it's their major competitor when it comes to consoles. They're also probably worried about this just opening the flood gates. Allow it on RL then you have to on all the other games.
I read an article that suggested really don't want to do it for Destiny 2. The difference is Destiny would also require VOIP instead of just quick chat like Rocket League. Also, if anyone didn't know, cross-platform can only use quick chat. VOIP and manual text doesn't go cross-platform.

When Xbox 360 was the king over PS3, Sony kept talking about how they should do cross platform, and Microsoft told them no. Now that the PS4 is ahead of the XB1, the roles are reversed. Whoever is on top doesnt feel the need to allow cross platform because they have a superior console. In the end though it will constantly swing back and forth, so they should just get on with it and allow cross platform. As for the communication aspect, it would be fairly easy to just disable cross platform communication by default, and you have to change the settings to allow it

Not allowing it increases sales in general due to those that will buy both consoles. But not by much, it's the exclusives that matter the most.
