i started as soon as online started. i was interested coz the last game i was massively into was gran turismo5 and thought i was gettin good at racin because of that.
i quickly found i was absolutely hammering randoms on gta5 and i loved it.. for a while. i thought my gt5 experience was giving me an edge on gt'A'5.
it was probably a couple of weeks in when i started looking for youtube vids of fastest cars coz i wanted to dominate even more! i saw a good handful of youtubers before realising that Broughys vids were BY FAR the most accurate and correct and i found most of my car choices were agreed with! which i was happy about
all this roasting of randoms got boring tho after a while and my ABOSOLUTE BIGGEST ISSUE with it was dirty racers! it made me so mad that i started looking for a crew. Watching broughys videos i thought id be miles off the pace so to be honest i probably didnt want to realise i wasnt as good as thought i was for a while. i thought id be out of my depth and thought that wouldnt be fun so with racing clean being my biggest issue, i joined a rockstar featured crew called the Mojo JoJo crew whose motto was to play clean.
i had quite alot of races for them and was quickly dominating the crews race results board (i still was 6months into being a nodo) but there was no comradery, or fun competitive racing. i think i met 2 good racers in a crew 1000 strong (at the time).
not sure exactly when it was when i joined NoDo, i think it must have been earlyish 2014 maybe a quarter way in i think. i remember my first race with a group of NoDos. i came last. then i rage quit in the 2nd race. hit me like a brick! lol. i shouldnt have quit tho and if anyone else has felt the same, i know the feelin! but the best thing u can do is plug away at it racing people who are faster than you. and get into some endurance races. your careful consistency may see you beat fast racers who have made mistakes(as in crashing). and its good practise getting to really know a track and being in the mix with them.
i improved alot since then. im consistently mid to top table but still off the top spots. And now i dont care that im not dominating. i get so much more out of a good battle! it doesnt matter where u are in the race as a whole. All thanks to NoDo. A big cheers to u all! NoDo4LiFe! lol.
Oh and learning of kerb boosts and actually driving on the the pavement/sidewalk for better lines was A BIG eye opener! although i still wont abuse it. well maybe the odd little kerb tickle
(that ended up longer than i thought it would! sorry for the life story! ive got nothin to do today)
