I have some great memories and some bitter ones (post 2011 2012 when p2w took over) Has anyone else on this forum been involved in this game Also wonder wtf is going on with EA? Not just NFSW but also Battlefield Play4Free and Battlefield Heros and Fifa World is shutting down

I use to play it a lot when I first found it, but gradually got bored of it because nothing new was coming in (I think I played non-stop for about 2 days when the drag races came out, but that eventually got boring). Apparently drift races and canyon races aswell as NFS Undercover's Tri City map was meant to be implemented into the game. Its a huge shame that it wasn't because those three things would've really spiced the game up, even if the MR2 was still OP as fuck.

I think the driving in that game was cancer. I mean, I'm not particularly keen on driving in most NFS games (even the old ones), but this game was something else. The cars felt like they were on rails.
So yeah. I tried the game, it was p2w aids with good car customization. Not what I wanted at all. So the game never heard from me again, I didn't even send it a birthday text.

Also the controls were made for keyboard and mouse instead of controller or racing wheel.

Well i wasnt gonna originally be up for it but i was kinda glad to see sending the game off The final error :,( Glad i got my profile backed up and the offline server working if i wanna revisit someday I was there at the end aswell. I went on a massive cruse with some friends and we did some races aswell. I did take some photos and I'll post them below. Btw I was in the Silvia because it was my first car in the game, so I decided to use it because of that reason. Btw there is an offline mod, so you can still play this game if you have the client still.

Yep i was in my Silvia untouched since i began. Never sold still had the igc bodykit year 1 plate and year 1 vinyl
Same reason was my first car. Took it on a tour then did welcome to palmont SP and a pursuit. To end like i began. Then sat on the turnpike and waited...
I did get my account backed up before shutdown so i have all my cars and stuff if i care to chose to visit the offline mod. Got it working

I worked for EA as a patching manager (for deployment and readiness testing of patches to all EA games) during the early years of this game. I played it a bit, and then the game deployed P2W against my advice that it would kill the game. Player count marginals dropped significantly. This, combined with EA Sports UT nonsense were ultimately what made me leave EA. So, all in all, I have a sour taste for this game, and truthfully--I'm glad to see another piece of P2W shit fall dead.

Preeetty sure there were more people in after it went F2P / P2W, because if you do recall, before that it was a $20 buy in to get above level 10. I'm not a developer but I can tell that the playerbase grew/ stayed consistent until blackbox got laid off (thus reducing updates to zero until a year after). That's more from community experience as a mod on one of the fansites, thus you know, actual experience with the people playing the game. Hell, I'm not a fan of microtransactions, but the amount of boost being bought... it was definitely not a big factor in how many people dropped out. We can keep calling the P2W scheme bullcrap all we want, but it works because people are dumb with money. So sorry, but I'm gonna have to call BS on you knowing the player counts. Other things, you could probably prove it one day. Game was mediocre, fun at times, painful in others. Don't regret playing it though, I met a lot of cool people there. Will I bother with the offline version? Nope, its out of my life and I'll leave it as a memory of my past.
