I know I was in a friggin Futo and slow as frog. I know I must've been a nuisance, a rolling obstacle on track. I would not have fought back, I even pulled over on the straights for most people that overtook me. I just felt I still deserved the respect of a decent overtake, and not to be train wrecked. This I feel is a respectable line of thinking. The problem though is that this is situational. Feltzer vs. Futo, you may just have to let it slide if you're the Futo driver. Once the cars' pace gets closer though, the line starts to get blurred. What if it was Feltzer vs. Banshee? The Feltzer is still the far superior vehicle, but that doesn't warrant a train wreck overtake.

(Disclaimer: I wasn't there, didn't see it, didn't hear the call out. Have not heard Benimis side, it could have been a lag issue, there could have been unmentioned factors, I don't know, so I am not judging Benimi at all, however....) Nothing warrents a train wreck overtake. I do not care if one guy is in an Vagner, and the other in a Tractor. You overtake cleanly. If a guy spins out in front of you you go around him. If a guy spun out beforehand and is now stopped side on across the racing line, you go around him. There are only three situations where it is acceptable to collide with someone: A) Lag. Either you didn't hit them on your end but did on theirs, or they suddenly teleport in front of you. B) You suck at driving. You lost control, misjudged a gap, forgot how crap your brakes are, car reacted badly to a bump in the road etc..it happens. C) They suck at driving and you had no time to react. They spun right in front of you, or you came around a corner to find them side on right in your path with no room to dodge.. These are the only times you should be hitting another car, and in the first two cases should result in you waiting. There is no time, ever, that it is acceptable to hit a car, then repeatedly ram them untill they are out of the way so you can continue on. This includes the first corner pileup (or any other incident that you were not part of). If you have room to stop and go around, then you stop and go around. You do not just barge your way through. Edit: And for the record drknut if i am reading this right, you were ahead of Benimi, not a back marker, he was trying to overtake you for position, and he took you out, calling him out was absolutely the right thing to do, and you should do it again. Edit the second: Almost forgot D) Wiggle boosters. Wiggle Boosters are fair game. Ramming those gits is pretty much obligatory.

Without sounding like a parrot to the previous guys, I agree that you are under no obligation to move out of the way when fighting for position, regardless of speed or skill differential, and shouldn't accept a takeout. The slow car head-start strategy is sometimes very effective in races with a prolonged start waiting times, a 30 second buffer to the traffic behind, avoiding first lap accidents that arise from large numbers of participants is also a benefit of the futo or blista. In hitting you, your race was compromised with your fellow slow car starters, and with the latter portion of the main pack runners who are trying to chase you down before the flag. In which case, a takeout warrants a call out. Staggered start sunday would be very aggravating if fast late starters were allowed to force their way past slower early starters, and same goes for the conventional playlists. Even when cars take out lapped traffic it is explicitly stated in the racing guidelines that they are required to wait, so takeouts on slow traffic for position fits well within this guideline. Possibly making a mountain out of a molehill, but just my 2 cents

I did my best to get fired on time to be able to join you... But I made a mistake 3 weeks ago: I was so bored of doing nothing at work that I actually started working... And this Weekend I was in hiking in Austria. I was disappointed since I didn't see any kangaroos

drknut as I said in TS chat, I wasn't waiting, because you hit the wall, bounced to the right, what let me an opening on the left. I went for the gap, when you started to close that it was too late, that's why the accident happen. At least this is what I saw, when you told me that you did NOT hit the wall, that made it clear it was lag, so I waited. Case should have been closed... But since it is not, let me clear this out: You don't have to wait for people if they make a mistake, and you don't have time to react. You don't have to wait for people, if they do a too sudden/late defensive move, and you don't have time to react, etc. Yes, you have to wait, when you take someone out, because of lag. But otherwise, you don't have to wait, if the incident is not your fault (No lag involved).

You don't have to wait for people, if they do a too sudden/late defensive move, and you don't have time to react, etc. There are several remarks I'd like to make to that: a) If I close a gap before you are side-by-side with me and you hit me in the rear, there was no gap and it was your fault. I personally would wait in that situation without being called out. b) I was in a Futo. You would have rear-ended me at the end of the turn by keeping that line whatever I might have done, due to my low speed (and no, I didn't hit a wall and bounced on my screen, but I did have a slight drift due to, well Futo, you know.. And shitty driver of course) c) You DO have to wait, if by your actions a mistake of someone else becomes significantly worse d) If you would have hit me once, I would not have said anything. But there were multiple contacts and you kept on driving until I was completely turned around and on my side. Therefore c) comes into play e) you do not argue against being called out by "but you're in a Futo" -that was honestly the thing that made me insist on you waiting for me f) next time just say "sorry" (one can be sorry for something that happened without thinking to be at fault) instead of some grumpimi-subvocalisations and we'll both go on and enjoy the race as if nothing happened To summarise it all: I do not regret having called you out for what you did. I do regret it because it honestly wouldn't have made a difference on my DNF and these TS discussions are an unnecessary drag on the generally positive atmosphere in TS during the playlists, something I really appreciate. I rarely ever call anyone out and don't intend to change that. I also don't intend to discuss these things, but as there were several people involved in the discussion, I felt I should clarify and publicly apologise -hence I "opened" the case again.

I also don't intend to discuss these things, but as there were several people involved in the discussion, I felt I should clarify and publicly apologise -hence I "opened" the case again. a) If you move so late your opponent can't react if not acceptable. Remember this? Late movement is dangerous, and put's the defender in the fault. b) I did stepped on the gas, when I saw the gap opening. Than the gap closed, when I was next to you. This is how lag works, you know. c) No you don't! It happened with me in MCEC S03 R01, talked about it with Nos, the commissioner who actually worked at the time, way before Baron took over. A GT3 driver called me out, made me loose half a minute, because he hit the apex prop, and that pushed him back to me. If the incident is unavoidable, why would the person not at fault have to pay more penalty than the incident itself? The point here is that the car behind can't possibly do anything to avoid or prevent the incident. e) I did not say that, I said, "you hit the wall, you made the mistake". This point is invalid. f) I'm not going to just say sorry and wait, if I clearly think that I was forced into a takeout, and than was called out for it. It ruined events for me, and it's a behaviour I don't wanna see in this crew. If I have the chance to defend myself, I will. You proved me that lag was involved, so I waited. I'm not saying you calling me out was a mistake, you were right. You don't have to apologize for that. Me stating that you don't have to wait, when you are not at fault, is for people in TS who tried to prove me wrong. Also here in the forums, people try to make in at fault for something that did not happened. Also, I'm clearly against driving into a crash, and I was rear-ended more times than I can count, when I slowed down because of one in front of me. Theign detectivesalmon

Theign detectivesalmon People still think you have to wait if you hit someone who was in the middle of a crash of which was not your fault for it happening? Wat You know whats weird though, I can't find the part that talks about this in the community guidelines anymore. I remember it, it even mentioned what to do if you hit a pole that falls down and makes people crash, but I cannot find it. Anyway, on C, benimi is entirerly right. Its a rule that is... not written on the community guidelines anymore? As for A, its tehnically legal in nodo. FIA calls it dangerous driving and will give you a penalty for it (from what I read) and we generally use FIA rules. If you block someone with your rear in a non racing line in a manner that makes it impossible to react to, its kind of a dick move but its legal I think 'for now'. Anyway, FriendlyBaron is it just me or did the racing guidelines get... shorter? I swear it talked about dropped poles causing accidents and what happens if you hit someone involved in a crash but its not there anymore? Weren't there like, 7 rules there in the racing guidelines section? Tagging because you edit the guidelines the most and maybe you know what happened. edit: I agree with sunken though, if this chat continues it should be moved to a PM. I still want to know about the community guidelines thing lol. edit2: ok maybe no pm then
