Hi there just wondering if any of you guys and gals have any tips on being faster I have raced a few times against our crew members and cant seem to get anywhere near some of them just wanting to know what im doing wrong and how to be faster. I don't play on the game very often couple of times a week mainly at a weekend (maybe thats it cant get a decent momentum) but really want to be more competitive. And I hate random lobbys but seem to have better luck in most of them

Hi! If custom cars are on that can sometimes be a bit of a problem if you don't have a fully customised car. First of all buy a spoiler as they improve traction. Try and get the boost or super boost at the start of a race. On corners that aren't to sharp, instead of braking decelerate. Try and max out your car with upgrades as they help so much. Hope I've helped. Good luck From JMAR

i think i have improved a lot since when i started watching broughy's videos and joined this crew (before broughy i didn't even know what a racing line was)... well, i don't know if that's your case, but I found that i was really too hard on the brakes, therefore, not on the pace with the others. I still am behind many of the crew members, but this has really helped me. Hope it helps you too. P.S. also, practice is everything, so yeah... play more XD

little tip: on corners you only brake a bit on, try entering from really wide and hitting the apex accuratley and you might find you only have to lift the accelerator briefly without braking at all. you gain seconds mastering this. will take some trial and error. familiarity is a winner! just watch out on the first corner coz this usually means getting rammed from everyone else on a different line

I'd say knowing the track and the corners your coming up against are also a big part of it. Once you know a fair few of them you should be better prepared for any track someone throws at you.
For example on around the mirror everyone knows the tricky right hand turn is best taken coming from the pavement, keeping as straight as possible trying to carry the most amount of speed without letting that bump completely F you over. This is something known only through practice and experience.
First time I drove that track you better believe I tryed to take that corner without using the brakes coming barley from the left hand side. Resulted in me not only spinning out but taking out 2 others with me. Lol

Thanks Will bear all in mind but I find it difficult to get inline on a regular basis have other commitments like a 5 month old baby to keep me busy so can only get online a few times a week and I think that is probably my biggest downfall. ?

I feel your pain smitveedub. When I race randoms I generally do ok, so long as I am not getting pitted or spun out constantly... but when I race with NODO guys, they clean my clock. One thing I do notice is that in a random race, if you crash or miss a line, it is really not that big of a deal, but in a NODO race, one spin out is a fatal error.
Not sure what your GT is (you on xbox?) but I am HappyPonyPants, and always up for some racing. I am nowhere near as good as these guys, but I do enjoy racing with them, and I do feel that I am getting better. The other day I came in 2nd place in Long Haul while driving a Vacca. So I know racing with the NODO guys is helpful. Plus you can watch their lines and techniques. Anyway, best bet is just to keep racing, and if you want to practice, send me a friend request and we can hit some tracks in a more no pressure kind of mode.

One of the main things that I've improved on as time goes by is letting off the gas rather than braking. It can shave one second off your time. "But Andy, one second isn't that much time," you may be saying. But you'd be wrong. In a race that has 10 corners, someone could potentially go 10 seconds faster than you. If it's a 3 lap race, they could go a whole 30 seconds faster! :0
Also, pretty obvious, avoid making mistakes. They eat up way too much time. Take your time going around the course your first lap. I'll admit it is hard to do while racing. Contradictory to above, slam your brakes to avoid a mistake rather than hitting a wall, lamp post, or gas station and bursting into flames.
Next, know your vehicle. Know how it handles going into the corners. Feel how it slides. Well not exactly feel, but see on the screen... You know what I mean! XD What I'd suggest is taking a Stock vehicle around Cutting Coroners and Greenwhich Meantime and see how they handle. Drive what you feel comfortable in. If you don't got a grip on the Elegy RH8, you don't have to master it. You can switch to something that better suits you. Finally, just have fun you know? Can't win them all. A couple people I've beaten twice, if that. They're very good and they've perfected their craft. If you had fun and enjoyed the race, that's all that matters. I wish there could be a new feature incorporated that shows, for example, how often you finish in the Top 5 or something like that. It is a bit depressing seeing that you've had 400 more losses than wins. But, again, winning isn't everything :-) Just go in with a clear mind, don't put so much pressure on yourself, and have fun.

First of all would like to say thanks to everyone who has replied and give me advice and pointers ive listened to it all.
I have done some testing tonight round LSGP did testing in supers first the zentorno and entity were the chosen cars I got a quicker lap time with the entity but found the zentorno alot more stable and the lap times I got were alot more consistent. Best time with zentorno was 1.43.1
Then I went to sports I tested elegy and the jester now this may cause some controversy but I got lap times of about 2 secs quicker in the jester then the elegy a tap time of 1.46.5 in the jester and I found the jester alot more stable and was getting that sort of time more regular I found the elegy alot harder to control.
Sorry for long winded reply and thanks if you bared with it and read it any more tips and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
