Oops, almost forgot. Here are my specs: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 @ 3.20GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 RAM: 8.0 GB OS: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit NVIDIA's shadow play what I'm using (not too often), it is perforance friendly, when you do turn off the "shadow time" feature. Okay, thanks! I'll try that out.

I hate this game so much, I have a decent setup, but can't keep the game not freezing. My graphics so low now, it is impair my performance. And the game still freezing from time to time. The next possible step is to got GTA3 graphics, but I don't want to go that far, yet. I just don't understand why others have problems with keeping their games run at 60FPS, so they run between 30-60, while my game usually runs at 60 easily, but out of nowhere it starts to freez. I would have no problem with the game running on 40 fps or something, but do it stable. But fo some reason, I can't do that, my game needs to freez, teleporting me around, risking others, that I'll take them out... Any idea? bladecruiser

Do you have issues with other games or programs freezing up or being laggy in any way?

Any idea? bladecruiser When you say "out of nowhere it starts to freeze" do you mean stuttering like I used to get constantly (your game freezes for a moment, although sometimes that moment lasts a few seconds and when it unfreezes everyone's cars have jumped ahead because on their screen they didn't freeze)? Because I have a theory that in GTA stuttering can be caused by internet issues. It's a similar story to the PS4 version of Tetris that is unplayably stuttery because the genius developer basically added a check for online leaderboards or something but that check doesn't run separate to the rest of the game so it interrupts the game's normal playing every other second and causes unbearable stuttering. My proof for this being a thing in GTA V is that no game I own stutters at all. In singleplayer I never ever stutter either. It's only in online that I stutter and the stuttering is always consistent with how my internet is doing that day. On a day where my internet is doing well I'll get minimal or no stuttering. On a bad days (like that time I DC'd on Spa Short in muscles right after holding off Mitch through the final turns ;_;) not only will I get bad lag but also really bad stuttering. Also my ISP (Virgin Media for anyone wondering) throttles connections during peak hours. It just happens that playlist time, even if I'm not in the playlist, is the worst time for my stutter and lag issues. When I play earlier or later in the day, even with as many people as in the playlist, I never stutter much or at all

But for me, it is happening in SP sometimes, not that often, and it might have to do something with social club notifications. And turning down my graphics looks like helped it, but for some unkonw reason, my FPS without V-sync got lower... And a lot a flares made it unplayable for me for the past few days, before I turned down even more. And killing everythig in the backgroud used to help, it looks like it helps, because it doesn't stop it, just make it less frequent. It really hard to test

It really hard to test I don't think your issues are internet-related then. There's so many different causes of stuttering in this game it's so hard to narrow it down. Hell I have a friend who has basically the same setup as me but water-cooled and with a better graphics card and lately he's been having major stuttering issues seemingly out of nowhere

I have problems running the game with v-sync turned on. Both the in-game and the gpu one. Without I'll run the game with 60-80 fps but with it I'm getting what seems to be constant 60 fps with frequent lag spikes (0 fps for a split second).

I'll try out to run the game without v-sync, but to be honest, with more and more events having a rule about 60 fps, and it looks terrible, with my display, I'm not to happy about that.

No, turning v-sync off didn't helped a bit. Any more ideas? Make sure your gpu settings work with game settings. I had to set Preferred Refresh Rate to application controlled in my nvidia 3d settings. Before that i was getting major throttling issues. I had it set ingame to 144hz, vsync on etc and was getting between 107 and 144fps with a mixture of high and very high settings. Since joining Nonchalant Dominance i have restricted it to a constant 62fps by setting my above nvidia 3d settings to application controlled, and my ingame settings to vsync on half, 120hz and all settings to very high. Sometimes it dips to 60fps but thats it. Hope this helps. Ps i havent read every post in here so not sure if this has been suggested.

This is what I achieved by doing this. A lot of time since your post, but I post just in case this can be helpful to someone. This happen as you said only with AMD cards, and, having reflections at the lowest level (0), if you have it at 1, 2, or 3 it will be fine (own experience). I have turn shadows off as bladecruiser suggested and it was what I needed for boost my fps in my low-end PC. Thanks!
