Joined in for the first time today, was fun even though not a single point was to be had haha Would have walked away with a few in one of the muscle car races if I didn't drive really awful on my final lap, crashed several times. Will have to grind some cash so I can get myself some actual custom cars other than my semi-upgraded Gauntlet though

I did the full playlist today. It's quite humbling as I used to think I was quite a good racer.
But now I know I need to improve a lot ! I DNF'ed all but one race but in three or four I was within a second or two of the line. I got one warning for not waiting. If it is the incident I'm thinking of I thought it was 50-50 so didn't wait but I accept the judgement in good faith.
But in the next race I was told afterwards in chat I had rammed someone "Good and proper" and I really couldn't think of an moment that would apply. I used shadowplay to record the race (I think I'm going to do that after every race from now on to help me see where my mistakes are).
From my point of view I was the one who was rammed and I was lucky to escape unscathed.
Am supposed to wait here ?
Another question. Where there's been a pile up ahead, generally near the the start, and a car pulls of it out into my line, causing me to slam into him, and probably causing more bumps to several cars, do I have to wait ?
And it probably only affects us back-markers but there were a few occasions when both me and another driver were waiting for each other both thinking that we at fault.

From that short clip, it looks like the other driver was at fault, if the wall hadn't been there to stop your car you would have been pit'd and the other driver would have to wait due to causing an accident. I had the same thing happen in a race yesterday, I didn't wait because frankly I don't see how it could have been my fault that someone else ran into my car and almost pit'd me when I was driving straight.
Granted, you could have moved left which would have given the other driver room to pass, but unless you're being lapped by much faster drivers, you're under no obligation to do so, a driver attempting an overtake *must* do so in a safe manner without causing an accident. Clearly he had as much room on the right to pass you safely as you did on the left, yet he didn't use that room and ultimately caused the collision.

I was the other driver.
If you watch it back slowly you will see it was a straight section and i had just come out of the previous corner much quicker so was going to make a pass. At the very start you can see that there is no room to pass on the right.
Initially it looks like me that makes contact, i was carrying so much more speed and the road begins to open up to the left i assumed gandi would have moved over slightly rather than close the door on me whilst i was alongside. You can clearly see that after the contact i start moving over right towards the wall. It looked like ramming because gandi kept on coming into me.
Lets just put it down to a 'racing incident'. It was excellent fun!

Gandi couldn't turn left after the initial contact, he couldn't do anything once he got hit to avoid going into the wall, such is the physics of GTA unfortunately.

I look forward to racing you again soon I'm just trying to get clear in my head what is right and wrong. I'm committed to clean racing and I'm sure at the moment the fear of transgressing is slowing me down. Practice , practice.

I've also had my first daily racing yesterday. It seems that I also already got a warning for ramming. In my opinion it seems some people really dont care If its your first time, you do something "and you're out". For me it is a whole different thing, I've just raced with randoms before and not quite serious as it seems yesterday and some take it way to serious, I need time to get in that type of racing, its really new to me and I dont want to do anything wrong, but mistakes happen. You just want to get in touch with other people, try to be one of NoDo, being part of the crew and get screw over in the first day. Maybe I did something, It can happen, I'm aware of that, always be gentle and careful but also on the other hand you also want to drive as hard as you can, its competitive racing but also everybody should have fun.. thats the MAIN reason (atleast I think so) that everybody is here and why they participate also of course to increase racing skill. I dont know If Im overreacting but some take it too serious. If you want to clear the situation, talk about it, nobody listen to It but thats up to my one or well too many people are talking and shouting at the same time.

In that clip posted, the front wheels of that Jester haven't passed rear wheels of the Elegy so the overtake wasn't done and they're not obligated to make room for you under current FIA regs...

terrabyte i totally understand your concerns. we first wanted to make the 'warning' spreadsheet non-public, and then talk to people as soon as they reach their 'limit'. even when i'm typing this, it sounds way too agressive imo. what i want to point out though, is that you shouldn't take the spreadsheet as serious either. its just a little review of your day in the playlist. you probably dont remember every little incident after racing for 2 hours. the warnings are only for the day, and the whole thing gets a reset every week. there are new people almost every day (and we're extremely happy about it), but you have to consider that this is an open crew, and many of the new players never heard about any of our rules & guidelines; never visited our forums. and it can get very frustrating if people take you out over and over again, and they keep going like nothing ever happened, just because they dont know better. that's why it sometimes can be hard to keep everyone 'safe'. the spreadsheet was the first step into that direction, but we're definitely working on further improvement. please dont take it personally, it is not our intention to pick on people.

ILL GOTTEN GAINS PART 2 PLAYLIST ON JULY 8thhello boys and girls,
a couple of you guys might have played the daily playlist when ill gotten gains pt. 1 came out. people who bought the new cars, handed them out in gta races. same for part 2, this time more 'official'.
ill gotten gains part 2 racing the amount of tracks and laps will be the same (10 tracks, ~10 minutes per track), we will focus on playing the classes of the new released cars though.
when?
July 8th, 5pm UTC as usual.
which classes / cars are we gonna be playing? we dont know the classes yet, just speculations from this point. - Progen T20, looks like supers - Coil Brawler, probably Offroad - Invetero Coquette BlackFin, sports classics? - Vapid Chino, probably Muscle - Dinka Vindicator (Motorbike) i'm not gonna buy this one, its up to you
do i have to buy the cars? no. if you set a race to GTA-mode, you can get out of your vehicle and another person can use it. then you can just use the respawn, and you will spawn in another copy of your car. once everyone is in a respawned vehicle or you even bought it yourself, we will start the race. personally, i'm gonna buy all of the new cars and upgrade them once they become available, so we have at least one person to spawn vehicles. but probably most of us will buy them straight away. just in case you're not sure if you want to buy a car, this is the perfect opportunity to test it before spending your hard-earned cash.

Sounds like an awesome playlist Pyro.. I will be one of the "try before buy" group,, respawn leech Wait for Broughy's lap time test to see if the cars are competitive and worth buying. I def think the off road car will be bought,, and we can use it in the "rally cross" events / races we do On the subject of crashes,, i too was tentative when i first started racing the daily playlist,,i thought every accident was my fault and stopped for everyone. I may not take the corners as hard as some and i tend to get rammed up the a** alot and pushed off track, now i dont consider that my fault, some racers just need more patience to line up slower traffic to overtake. I am improving at defending my position and racing faster But please,, use brakes and look ahead at whats happening in front of you.. I like racing with you all,, and as said above ,, we are all here to have fun and improve as the main objective

This might prove hard to do, as I'm working untill 3pm UTC and unfortunately despite working from home today I can't go slack-mode Huge presentation for client in the works. I might take you up on that offer another day though, appreciate it

No probs, if it isn't the weekend I'm pretty much always available, and I'm down for heists with zero cut as I only want the vehicle unlocks from them anyway.
