Ascot As much as it sucks to feel like you caused an accident, the reality of the situation in that video is that he just didn't react to your early braking and honestly you got lucky that you didn't get spun out as well (and Chilli could easily have gotten caught up in it too).

Just because someone in front breaks before/after the optimal breaking point doesn't give you the right not to respect them. You still need to keep your distance and avoid illegal contact.

No, I dont take it personally and I understand your concern. Its not really about the spreadsheet, its about other people. It can really frustrated when a "new guy" takes you out, can cause a wreck and anything else. But It can happen, mistakes and accidents happen in racing. Its just difficult to talk to the people when you hear you name, want to explain it but nobody listen to you or dont care - because you're "the new guy", some dont care if you're new and expect you to get right into the competitive straight racing but how I said, for me its a whole new "level". thats the thing. 20-30 people talking on teamspeak, then the mess eventually translates over to the race track as i said, theres new people almost every day. it sometimes can be hard to tell if you're in the playlist for the first time, or for a week. it takes some time to remember names. on the bright sight, you could say that everyone is treated equally. so even you're there for the first time, theres like no difference to people who've been there for a month. it can be sort of getting thrown into cold water. it might look or sound rough sometimes, but i think everyone is pretty relaxed, just take it easy. /edit: someone please teach me how to quote

Okay to anyone looking to get into the daily racing playlist, please feel free to send me a Friend request on RSC. I try and send invites over RSC along with the in game invites. It is always easier the more people that race the daily playlist that you have on your friends list. My RSC name is in my Signature below, feel free to FR me.

The PC community of core players is great. There's a lot of randoms who have joined I guess because they've seen videos on the YouTubes that begin with "Heeeeeeeeelllo everybody I'm Broofy 1322..." and thought they'd board that train. Never hit up the forums, never on TS/Mumble, never in daily playlists etc... But the core guys are great. Except when they destroy Titan engines in contact missions, making them very hard to fly - or when they crash into the Titan and cause it to explode... @hiberg .fiyah

haha I didn't name names! I just observed that the PC crew is able to overcome challenges not just on the race track, but in the air!

I think the thing that surprised me from my first experience of the daily racing was the speed of some of the other players. But i'm convinced a lot of it is getting those first couple of corners right.
My very first race, all hell broke out in the first couple of corners and i managed to avoid it all and i lead the race for a while until CH1LLI overtook and i got into a good battle with HiBerg and i ended up finishing second.
Then people started talking about lists and being punished for touching and i lost my nerve going into those first corners and was being so hesitant and careful not to touch that i'd already sealed my fate. Most people didn't give a damn and i was smashed, bashed and spun around because i was being too defensive rather than aggressive. At which point the front has already pulled away and i am left in a battle at the back.
So what is the stance on first corner incidents and how do other people deal with them?

Yea, that was a nice battle! I think they do. The problem is that when you hit someone while being hit (first corner aids), then it can be near impossible to decide who should wait. It's not optimal, but unless it is clear who started the chai(ds)n reaction, then people generelle just continuous. What I do, I don't break early but rather slow of the gas early. This gives me more time to react and if contact is made the outcome is more likely not me flying. Also I'm more often than not taking the outside line in the first corner.

I think the best way to get through the first corner is just to close your eyes and pray. It works for me 3 out of 10 times and that's better than when I actually try to avoid collisions. Just go for the optimal racing line despite other people racing there as well, because chances are high they will crash and get thrown off the racing line, opening space for you! I also noticed using your klaxon repeatedly through turns works as well. People will get distracted, crash and launch either in the air or to the outside of the turn allowing you to pass. Hope I helped a few new members with this post. In the end it all boils down to aggressive racing, faith and racecraft.

IF the first corner comes early, and espescially if it's a hairpin or a chicane u should not just speed up and try taking the corner like a hotlap if you're in the middle or the back. Be patience, let off the gas and be prepared to react to the driver infront of you or to the side. Race as clean and respectful as you would otherwise. There's not gonna be alot of room in a 20-30 player race to even consider doing an overtake or drive aggresivly in the first corner. Of course the one going into the corner first have to try to take it as fast as they can to avoid ppl that have their eyes closed crashed into you. Once the pack is scattered after the first set of turns it's more safe to do overtakes and race as normal.
