A couple of us were racing the other night and had a discussion about understeer vs. oversteer. Most, if not all, of us said that we preferred oversteer. I want to know what everyone else thinks. So discuss.

Most, if not all, of us said that we preferred oversteer. Yep, no contest. That's why I don't understand all the love for the Jester, or for the Cheetah to a lesser extent.

I have no idea what those two terms mean... xD Well oversteer is like when you lose grip in the rear tires, is when you oversteer And when you understeer, that means that you turn your steeringwheel, but nothing happens aka the front tires dont grip, like what the Jester has
I prefer a tiny bit of oversteer to be honest, easier to manage and more capable in corners if driven properly Jester's turning radius is at high speed can be quite wide at times

Yeah they mean pretty much what the words are. Does the car steer less or under what you would expect it to, or does it steer more or over what you would expect?

I haven't experienced any understeer that I can recall with the Cheetah since I've been using it, at least if it has I haven't even noticed it. The custom Entity on the other hand, thats a car where the understeer is fuckin' noticable, at least when I'm behind the wheel.

I used a fully modded Cheetah for a few weeks, and it seemed to me to have more understeer than any other super. Vinewood Nights in particular was really tough as a result.

Cheetah has really bad understeer. Jester understeer isn't that bad. There are plenty of cars with much worse.

Noo Kayos, you're wrong mate. Trust me once you're able to push cars to their limit, the understeer will only get worse especially with the Jester

But if I had to choose, I'd prefer understeer if it was only going to be slight (that's just how my driving style is) and oversteer if it was going to be a lot. Jester fully modded is about the limit I can stand with understeer. Any more than that and I'd be wanting oversteer (at the same intensity) instead. Although I will say that the best thing about understeer is that it's predictable. You never know when you're going to lose the back end and oversteer, but with a car that understeers you generally know under what conditions it's going to do it, so can drive accordingly. Oversteer probably allows you to drive closer to the limit in a racing situation though, as you can always correct for it which you can't with understeer (get it wrong and you're in the wall). But as I said, a perfectly balanced car with neither oversteer nor understeer as standard would be lovely

I agree of course, but it just seems that every car in the game tends to lean towards one side or the other. At least to me it does.

I'd say the Exemplar is damn near perfect in this respect...
