I hope he will lock his fps to 60, otherwise he shouldn't be replacing you at all cuz that will influence championship standings way too much.
Just in case somebody wondering how much fps thing gives you...

While I do appreciate the changes made to the track I think changing a track 30-40 hours before the actual race is a bit weird. It didn't cause me any issues personally, but I'm sure it could come as a surprise to some. Worst case scenario you'll have someone do all their practice early in the week and have work taking all their time last half of the week and meet up race day and see their practised racing lines being blocked off.
Just my two cents, anyway.

I don't think there should've been any changes to this track because it was good the way it was before. This is called Jack Of All Trades people if you can't handle the bumps you are obviously not meant to be the Jack Of All Trades. And a lot of the racing lines have now been blocked of...

"Jan 20, 2016 at 11:34am CHILLI said: Since this has been discussed and tested before, as Hertz mentioned above, I'll try to be brief. A higher framerate results in more accurate physics, random spikes will become smaller. Likewise, according to Oh_Darn's drag race curb boost tests, a lower framerate increases the potential of getting an uber boost over a bump. So what you could extrapolate from his testing is that you're potentially faster at 30fps. But seeing as a lot of people are pointing out that they improve after moving to a higher framerate it contradicts Darn's testing. The verdict? You're faster with a higher framerate because you have a lot better fine control, not because of random magic. + and I did a video on p1 2 proof I get the same times www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq2qXQ32FAgand tho that u can understand it better and at all -> imgur.com/6lJVt2K

agreed w kasumi. 90 was ahead of 60 then makes a mistake then is tied with 60? very unscientific test

Have you watched the video? You're not faster because you can control your car more efficiently, higher fps makes your car shift quicker, gain more from curbs overall. This video was made on purpose, because someone managed to get 2.12.5xx in the qualif race for F1 at Mirrors Edge, despite running an awful lap full of sliding and shaky driving. You want to tell me that sliding is a better control? People who had a perfect laps around that track, without any sliding and choking were getting mere 2.13.1-5xxx, not a damn 12. Then that person revealed that his fps was locked at 120. Sorry, I'm not gonna buy that crap, I've seen way too many ppl passing me without reason, later to be revealed that they were abusing fps thing. Of course, not every pass was due to fps, hardware plays a slight role as well but way smaller than fps. I know how it feels to downgrade from 144 to anything else, I've got 144hz monitor (though I'm playing on a TV). Lock it to 90 or 100 if it hurts that bad, 120/144 gives you the advantage and there's literally no way for you to prove me otherwise

That kind of slide is not supposed to give you 1.5 sec in 120fps run favor, whatever, just watch this and say what you want -
And what dirt for god's sake? Practice the track first to know what makes you lose time there pls.

I've seen way too many ppl passing me without reason this also happens when everyone is at the same FPS (see darn's F1 Spa race for "irrefutable proof"), and people who run 144fps get "passed without reason" too.. random microbumps are just as compelling as curbs, and the random microbumps are just that: random. No one knows this stuff better than the hotlappers, who know that getting world records are completely dependent on getting the lucky but necessary random microbump that might only come around once per 20 laps etc.

This video was made on purpose : the video is not reall good in terms of trying to get a similar lap with diff fps You want to tell me that sliding is a better control? : what where why would anynone say that ? I've seen way too many ppl passing me without reason: happens to me all day even with people that got a total crap pc like lukas or lowlife and so on. this game is random some curbs and bumps speed u up sometimes more or less. I can feel the difference between 140 and 120 fps and 144hz and 120 fps and I would, I f race with alot of people like more than 10 I got 90-120 fps. if I drop below 100 fps it feels really bad. this game ran way better before some patched we all lost a shit ton of fps. Im not locking my fps because everyone is playing with a 60hz monitor. I bought a gaming monitor tho. for gaming its nice and smoove. I would never ever go back to 60 hz. 60 fps on 144hz feels like 20-30 fps on 60 hz. no fun at all.

I'm well aware of the game's randomness in curbs/bumps regard, what seems suspicious is that people with higher fps are always faster, despite running a god awful lap (Madderose's vid). Here's my best lap of that track, being still worse than his, even though it was MILES cleaner -

people with higher fps are always faster, despite running a god awful lap most of the world records on my tracks are held by 60 fps drivers (btw im not saying theyre the same or that one or the other is faster, im just saying the issue has been blown way out of proportion)

yeah bro I just can not enjoy the game if I lock my fps to 60 or 90 or what ever. I have told u that in many ways. I did a 2.13 with 60 fps and 60 hz ( thats nuts ) on klodens p1 elysian a few days ago because he asked me to do it. I had to do shit almost one second earlier because the responsivness of the car was so bad, and the game is not smoove at all for me. felt like 20 fps. so I guess if u guys still have problems with that, I can not race with you. I just wanted to help out bebbo because he is a really good dude.

Just try getting 2.12 at ME doing those mistakes, good luck with that, you'll get 2.14.5-6xx at best, sorry, those are the facts. We've ran lots of tests after that particular qualif, with people switching their fps to different values, everyone were getting much better results with higher fps immediately after changing.
