Lone Point Lone Bright Spot in Week 1 for Redwood (11/5/2016) Redwood Racing struggled through its first two races in SAGTC, managing one point in an otherwise lackluster showing. Redwood driver Krizz obtained the lone point in the season opener at Parson's and is slated to start on pole position for Raton Canyon next week. Both drivers talked about the week of racing in a post-race press conference highlighted below: Krizz, you were able to score Redwood's first point of the season at Parson's with a 12th place finish, how did you feel about the race? What kind of momentum will this present the team when they go to Raton Canyon?"Well first I have to thank everyone working at Redwood Racing for a great job on the car. In the race I was able to stay out of trouble for the whole race, ofcourse starting at P7 helped with that. Anyways the Seven-70 felt quite good around Parsons and with a pit strategy that allowed me to drive on my own around the track for the most time helped me to find a good rhythm. Neverless I have to point out that I´ve gained the last 3 postition because of people infront of me had issues, so luck was a factor aswell. So for Raton Canyon I hope that I can show a clean race again, stay out of trouble and try to get a good result from the pole postion. The track itself feels really good to drive on and the view´s you have around it are amazing too. To answer your second question directly, I´m really looking forward to that race, starting on P1, so definitely some positive momentum going in that race." Gamerer, it looked like you were going to have a strong start on Montreal and have a shot at the points but you got caught up in a crash, what happened?
"Uh, well Montreal we were starting in the mid pack, it's kind of a tough position there being in the eye of the storm. I felt really good about the car, we ran some solo tests and hit a couple of mid 1:07's, so I figured if I went on the aggressive at the start I could grab a spot up in the top 12 real quick and just try and stick around there. These starts, they're really important , they're the best way to grab spots in a race. I saw Tspoon slip up off the corner, he left open a little gap, and I went for it, trying to get into the top 10 and all. Usually you don't want to go 2-wide there but he lost enough momentum off the corner that I figured I had a decent shot of getting him once we got though the chicane. Instead it looks like he clipped the barrier the wrong way and I was just along for the ride after that. After I got the car back on the track in about last place I was struggling to try and replicate the pace I was hitting in practice, I think I need a bit more seat time with the car to get used to how it feels, maybe mess around with the brake pads a little. It's unfortunate for the guys at the shop, we poured a couple of hours in making these cars drive the best they can, but you gotta take those risks to grab positions, sometimes it's works out, sometimes it doesn't, today it didn't, and we'll just have to move on from this. We'll have our work cut out for us in week 2 starting from the back there, but we're looking on the bright side for that." (Above) Tspoon lag-clips the inside barrier, triggering a crash involving him, Gamerer, and PTgodPT Krizz, this question overlaps a bit with the last question: Both you and your teammate struggled at Montreal, why did that happen? What will you two do to recover from the poor showing? Is there anything good you can takeaway from this race? The week as a whole?"You know, you can´t have great races everytime and this was definitely the case for us at montreal. Both of us where allready at the back after the first lap, BIGGamerer because of an unlucky crash and me because I started last. So we had to push for the whole race to make up some positions. I´d say that all the luck we had for this week was used by me in the parsons race, so after that we had a tough time. Anyways I saw some positive things aswell. For example, we had a decent pace on both tracks and even more important that we didn´t gave up at any point of the races and tried to get the most out of any race, so that should and will give us a good feeling for the next races and the rest of the season." Gamerer, similar question, is there anything good you can takeaway from the week as a whole?"Krizz on pole for Raton Canyon is gonna be pretty exciting, he ran a clean race on Parson's, if he can get out front and get some more time in that clean air he'll be sure to have a shot at the points once again. I was actually fairly encouraged by the times we hit in practice with the Seven70 before Montreal. Usually I'm about a second off the top guys but this time around I hit a couple of laps that were just off top-5 pace. The problem was I couldn't hit those laps during the race, nor do it consistently. So we'll work on that, it's an uphill climb from here for me with the bad starting spots but I've had brilliant drives before from the back of the field, we'll use up the white cards, light up some Redwoods, and get ready for week 2."

Gamerer puts Redwood back in victory lane in Broughcar (11/12/2016) For Redwood Racing's co-owner and winning-est driver, it was the makings of another dominant performance in Broughcar. Once again he was competitive and looked to have the race in the bag, inheriting a half-a-lap lead after excellent pit strategy and about to lap 3rd place @zenvohh and put him out of contention. Then suddenly, the unthinkable: a multi-car crash triggered the safety car just as Gamerer got behind zenvohh's rear bumper. The huge gaps Gamerer had built on Grumples_Plox (grimreaper977) and @zenvohh? Gone. Now he had to hold them off the hard way, as they were to restart right behind his rear bumper. But Gamerer did not let the pressure get to him, using his advantage as the control car to get a great jump on the last restart and pull away from the two Team Princess Minty Bubblegum drivers, claiming his 6th NODO win and a milestone 5th win in Broughcar after just 6 starts in the series. For his Redwood teammates, however, the race proved to be a struggle. Prutoog and Divait stumbled to 13th and 14th place finishes in the 15-car field after being caught up in crashes in the middle of the field, at the end of the day bringing home torn up race cars. The three took questions about the race in the series post-race conference, with a transcript included below: Gamerer, what does this win mean to you?"This win means quite a lot actually. After the last race [The Federal 404] I was a little bummed my team didn't get much share of the glory there, with grim winning that race and getting another team victory. I guess you could say there's been a bit of a rivalry between us and the Bubblegum guys over there. The Redwood Racing oval programme from day 1 has always been a great program, very competitive programme, and this Broughcar series, every time it comes up is a great opportunity for us to flex our left-turning muscles and show the rest of NODO how well we do this. Obviously we're short again on the effort to get the team win but once again we got someone in victory lane." Walk us through those last couple of restarts. How did you hold off grim and zenvohh?"The safety car near the end that triggered those restarts, I was really hoping against that, and I was super bummed out realizing that all that work I did getting all the way to rear end of zenvohh's bumper to try and lap him basically got thrown out the window. Now the dude was in a position to pass me, steal the win, and really make me feel like shit for not being to lap him when I had the chance! But we basically just took advantage of our position as the control car there to get a good jump, grim would try and time the jump so he'd be right alongside me but I just lingered on the throttle input just long enough to throw his attempts off and be able to get out there comfortably." Divait, you were thought to be one of the drivers competing for a podium this race but instead end up with a 14th place finish, what happened out there?"This was a really unlucky race for me, I had 4 or even more incidents with drivers which were not by my fault. I will be strong and going to move with this into the next event. Well, what else I can add, sometimes shit happens with all drivers." Prutoog, you had similar struggles out there placing 13th in your first oval race in months with the crew, tell us about your race."After a long break away from oval racing. I screwed up my qualifying. Early on I got the bad end of 2 crashes I had nothing to do with. Then messed up myself for good measure. Still didn't finish last. So not too bad." Gamerer, last question, there's one more Broughcar event that will occur before the end of the year and then there's speculation regarding a Broughcar championship in 2017, how does Redwood prepare for the last oval race of the season and potentially a championship in 2017?"I think it'll take a business as usual approach, only we'll have to stress a constant focus on our goals when the championship comes around. You know, the way these things have been run it's been prep for one race, have a break, prep for another, have another break, etc. When the championship comes around there'll be no breaks, it'll be a constant, steady effort to bring home a couple of trophies from the race track." --END TRANSCRIPT-- The team lit up some Redwoods to celebrate Gamerer's win and a 2nd place team finish in the points, but the celebration was brief, as soon after Divait and Gamerer took a private jet over to the Senora desert for week 2 of SAGTC.

Redwood Struggling in Team Standings after week 2 of SAGTC (11/18/2016) Redwood Racing sits near the bottom of the list in the SAGTC team championship after the conclusion of week 2 despite strong efforts by both drivers through both races. At Laguna Seca, Krizz enjoyed a strong run early but teammate Gamerer struggled immensely, having to pass by the pits an extra time after failing to comply with pit road rules when coming down for his first stop. A mid-race safety car shuffled the running order, spoiling krizz's run at a top 5 but breathing new life into Gamerer, who was in danger of being lapped and had taken all of his pit stops prior. Krizz was able to fight back to score an 11th place finish, but Gamerer, who moved as high up as 10th after the safety car, finished 16th after a bizarre crash resulting from barely clipping a glitched wall the wrong way. At Exit 4A, it was Gamerer who looked to have a shot at a top 10 in points. However, a mid-race safety car cost Gamerer about 10-seconds on the track and placed him back in traffic in 16th for the ensuing restart. Gamerer struggled to move through the pack and his bid for his first points finish of the season ended after crashes with Bezerka3 and Codex_PT84✈🚁🚘 . Teammate Krizz did not fare much better, finishing a couple of spots outside of the points. Both drivers addressed the media after the race, though Gamerer was notably exhausted, having raced in Broughcar right before SAGTC: Krizz, how do assess your performance in Laguna Seca? What was it like preparing for the race after the venue change?"Pace wise I´m happy with my performance on Laguna Seca but sure I hoped for a better result at the end of the race. Unfortunately I tried to pit late and lost some time because of the safety car, but hey that´s how racing works. For me it wasn´t a problem to prepare for Laguna Seca instead Raton Canyon. It was announced early and because of my starting position on Laguna Seca I did many laps on it." There was a heated battle between you and your teammate in the second half of that race for a top 10 spot which ended in contact between you two. There seems to be a lack of synergy with the team. Is this the case?Well it was nice to see that BiGGamerer made up so many positions during the race, at that point it looked like both Redwood cars would finish in the points. Unfortunately after a few laps I had a moment where I lost concentration and I hit my own teammate. It felt like we both lost some momentum after that and I put both of us under unnecessary pressure from other cars as a result of that. After all, even after the crash, I don´t think there is a lack of synergy with the team. The talk we had after the races was positive and respectful and we will continue to push each other to our limits. Gamerer, let's discuss Exit 4A. At one point you were running in the top 5 but you end up finishing outside the top 15. How do you assess your performance?"It's frustrating. We weren't the fastest car out there but we had a little more pace out there than I thought we were gonna have and then things started snowballing against us. The safety car, the crash with Bezerka3 , the crash with Codex_PT84✈🚁🚘 , I saw a decent points effort turn into a back of the field finish. And it hurts a bunch to get that kind of finish because it puts you in such a bad position for the next race too; it's hard to build momentum when the momentum works against you." Krizz, through 4 races your teammate has failed to score a point. How would you assess his performance to this point? What does he need to do differently, if anything, going in week 3, to score those first points?"I feel like the results he got doesn´t display the performance he showed really well. What I mean by this is that he was the victim of crashes caused by other drivers in pretty much every race so far. I´m pretty sure he would have scored some points allready if he would have been a bit more lucky. So I don´t think there is much he can or should do different. Looking forward to the next races I have no doubt that he will start to score points there." Speaking of week 3, Gamerer, we are already aware you won't be in the car that week, who do you put in the car that week to try and get Redwood back on the right track in the team championship?"I don't know yet. No one's biting. We put up some advertisements for the gig on the back of some Redwood cartons hoping to pick someone up, but it's a wait and see type of deal." Last question of the press conference, Gamerer, how do you feel after the doubleheader today?"Like shit. I need a damned Redwood to go smoke right now, y'all kids need to get the hell out of my press conference so I can go get my damned nicotine fix."

BREAKING: The_Bad_Loser to Redwood for SAGTC Week 3 (11/22/2016) Redwood Racing has just announced that SAGTC veteran The_Bad_Loser will take over for redlaserbm in week 3 of SAGTC. The announcement comes days after Gamerer announced he would be unable to attend the races because of logistical issues. Loser previously drove for FlyUS/Bravado in season 4 of the landmark series. Gamerer was reached for comment on the matter via phone and provided the following response: "Interview? Buddy I'm busy as hell with stuff alright Loser's got the spot for week 3 I sent him a pack of Redwoods to smoke that's all you need to know now get the hell off my phone line."

Krizz posts season-best finish for Redwood in SAGTC (11/27/2016) Redwood driver Krizz added on to a string of points-paying finishes with yet another one, a 6th place finish at Blaine County NW, the best finish of the season for Redwood Racing. Teammate The_Bad_Loser , who subbed for Gamerer, was unable to score points, however, continuing a pointless drought from the primary car to start the season. Nonetheless, Gamerer was happy with the drive from both competitors as indicated in a phone interview: "Not gonna lie I was pleasantly surprised to see Krizz pick up such a great finish in the car, I think now we're starting to see hints of the guy who stole the show in the Vans Master Race, it's been really cool seeing what this guy can do in a full-time ride up to this point. Here's to hoping he can close out [the first half of the season] with a good week 4 run. I gotta give props to Loser for hopping in the car after I realized I couldn't be there myself. We're really hurting for some team points and anything helps." Krizz and Loser took comments about the race in the post-race press conference: Krizz, you achieved the team's best finish of the season in Blaine County NW, how were you able to finish so well? The most important thing was that I started on pole position again and even after losing 4 positions after the first turn I stayed out of the trouble that was happening further back. The pace I had wasn´t really great compared to what I was able to do in my practice sessions before the race but besides one major accident I had a race without mistakes. The last thing is that some other racers had many issues in that race so I was able to profit from that and secured our best finish yet. How do you prepare for week 4? Is there anything different you'll do this week versus previous weeks knowing the mid-season break is around the corner?I think the next week could be a very strong week for us, so I´ll be prepared as good as I can be again. The main difference in this week, compared to last week, for me is that, I think, the Seven-70 will be strong on both tracks. That means I´ll prepare for both tracks equally, unlike last week where I mainly practiced for Blaine County NW. So you see my focus is only on Monza and SSGP at the moment, and even in the mid-season break I´ll still be doing races for other events to keep up with my drving. Despite the great finish at Blaine Redwood still sits near the bottom of the list in the team standings, any comments you want to give about that?Hm I´m not sure what to say about that right now, I mean yes at the moment the team standings don´t look that great for us but we haven´t even finished half of the season yet, so there are still many points to get. I think Gamerer and me still have some room for improvements and when we do so the team standing will show that sooner or later. Feel free to ask me about the team standings again after the last race, when it matters and when we will be standing on a higher position. Loser, you had a tough weekend out there, at one point it appeared your windows were fogged with cigarette smoke, what went wrong?I'd hate to try and pinpoint any one issue as the sole factor in my poor performance. There were some incidents on Blaine that put me behind the eight ball, but ultimately I just couldn't find a rhythm. I think it's safe to say that Ary's was a track that just didn't like the Seven-70, and I'm fairly sure some of the other drivers would agree with that assertion. All in all, a very frustrating performance. Last season you were a full-time driver, this season you're a part-time driver, what's it been like not being able to make a full-time commitment to the championship? It's been tough. Getting out there in a full grid is always a thrill, and the chassis and track changes look to have really shaken things up. Though my poor performance this past week would suggest it's probably ideal that I remain a fan and not a participant. Hopefully, it's just a bit of rust, and I can shake it off in the future.

Hey guys, the Redwood Racing statsheet is a little out of date right now but I will perform a complete "audit" of sorts through Redwood's past racing history and update the sheet accordingly within a month from now. In the mean time, I'll have some more flavor text to show up in this thread soon.

Redwood gears up for Broughcar championship run (1/1/2017) With the new year emerging, the Broughcar season-opener lurks just around the corner. Gamerer and his team, however, are ready for the season, with a team lineup including SAGTC season 4 race winner Benimi and NODO veteran Divait . On Saturday the series will return to Xero Speedway for race 1 of the Chase for the Logger Cup. For Gamerer the racetrack has been a site of huge success, winning both times so far that the track has been raced on. Gamerer says, however, the track has changed. "It's changed a lot. Something's happened with the lap times, they're a lot slower than when we were here back in July, this race is gonna be a heck of a lot different, it's gonna be a whole different ballgame, I think the people that are coming back from July, they're gonna be real surprised when they come back onto this race track." The road to the championship for Redwood will not be easy. Each of Redwood's three drivers has a path to the driver's championship, and Redwood Racing itself may finally be able to mount a run for a team championship in the series--something which has not happened in over 9 months--but the competition will be fierce. The long-standing rivalry between Redwood and Team Princess Minty Bubblegum and their respective team owners Gamerer and Grumples_Plox (grimreaper977) is sure to continue on the track and yield more of the same intense race-long battles for position of 2016. Gamerer, however, thinks this time his team can topple the dominance of TPMB: "I know [Team Princess Minty Bubblegum] has been dominant in this series, but this time I got assembled a team of 3 really good drivers who I think can show up and score some wins. We need all we can get here for this championship and I think we got that right here with this team. We've struggled quite a bit in the past with consistency; being able to get two guys up there in the top 5, but we're ready to strike in race 1 and do just that." Gamerer has proven success in the series. In 7 starts Gamerer has 5 wins and 7 podiums and is the only driver in series history to have multiple wins. benimi has proven success within the crew overall, with wins in SAGTC, MCEC, and Broughcar. In two series starts Divait has failed to finish better than 13th. Gamerer says, however, that won't be a problem "I think you gotta look past the stats to see the potential in Divait. You know, like some of these other guys out there Divait is a dangerously fast racer, you can put him in about anything and he'll find a way to compete for a podium, I think he's a great choice for the team and I can't wait to see him go to work in the season opener."

Redwood Roundup 1/9/2017 The Redwood roundup is a weekly summary of Redwood Racing's events from the previous week. In this weeks' Redwood Roundup: -Redwood Racing stumbled in its return to SAGTC from the mid-season break. Krizz had a top-10 run going on Zancudochamps before mechanical issues forced him to a finish outside the points. He recovered to a 12th-place finish in Monaco. redlaserbm's season-long slump continued, failing to score points in either race from a lack of pace. Gamerer remains one of a handful of drivers who have failed to score points in the season. -BIGGamerer won his 7th non-playlist race in race 1 of the Chase for the Logger Cup, gapping the field with a 8.5-second margin of victory, but not before an intense mid-race battle with rival Grumples_Plox (grimreaper977). Teammate Benimi finished not too far behind Gamerer in 3rd, giving Redwood the points lead in the team championship by 25 points. Redwood's third driver Divait struggled, getting lapped multiple times but ultimately ending up with a 10th place finish.

Redwood Roundup 1/19/2017 In this week's Redwood roundup: -SAGTC Season 5: SAGTC rookie Krizz earned 12 points in week 6's races, placing him 13th in the drivers' standings and putting Redwood 10th in the team standings. Race 12 was marred by controversy, which saw Gamerer and Krizz reclassified in 13th and 6th after originally being classified in 3rd and 4th respectively as the result of an officiating mistake and a decision to classify based on standings at 80% race distance. Gamerer continues to struggle in the championship, among one of 6 drivers who still have not scored points. -Broughcar - Chase for the Logger Cup: Gamerer suffered his first non-podium finish in Broughcar after a late-race choke, allowing Grumples_Plox (grimreaper977) to take 3rd in the closing laps. Teammate Benimi gave chase to Oh_Darn for the win in the closing laps but ultimately ended up in a close second. Gamerer and Darn are now tied for the lead in the drivers' championship, while benimi and grim are just 10 points back. In the team championship, Redwood holds a slim 7 point lead over rival Team Princess Minty Bubblegum.
