Hey guys! If the status and signature don't make it obvious, I'm a sucker for oval racing, and perhaps the most enthusiastic about it compared to anyone else in the crew. The new Stunt Race creator has made it possible to create high-quality oval tracks, and this post serves as a showcase of these tracks--it might look a little barebones right now, that's because it's under construction, I'll tidy it up as I get ideas to tidy to up.
1. Xero Speedway v5
Track length: 0.45 km
Banking: 3 degrees (Turns), 0 - 1.5 degrees (Straights)
This is a classic bullring-style oval designed for bumper-to-bumper action. The speeds here are still pretty fast, but you'll spend a lot of time turning and more time than you think braking for the turns. "Bumps" have been placed on the track to simulate aged pavement to encourage drivers to search around the racetrack to find ways around their competitors. An older version of this track was featured in the Xero Gas 100.
2. Dineasoar Speedway v4
Track length: 0.4 km
Banking: 6 degrees (Turns), 4 degrees (Straights)
Another bullring with a different characteristic compared to Xero Speedway. The turns are tighter but banked higher. Drivers ride high above the infield on the straights, only to (literally) dive deep into the corners, experiencing constant, significant elevation changes. The track is also very demanding, as drivers must fight to keep their car pointed straight on the low-grip surface and establish a rhythm to get their car turning on the bottom, with no rests on the short straights.
3. Lifeinvader Speedway v3
Track length: 1.0 km
Banking: 5 degrees (Turns)
This track is the largest competitive oval NODO has ever seen! Long fast straights lead into wide sweeping (but challenging) corners, creating intense high-speed action that can't be seen anywhere else! Variable grip technology in the corners encourages drivers to search around the race track for speed while simultaneously ensuring a smooth ride. Mistakes are punished dearly. This track will be featured an upcoming event.
