Don't think anyone saw my crash on Chaps, on the bridge bit I hit the inside and then went flying off the other side landing in the ditch. Main lesson learned from the practice was to check out where the pits are on each track. Not sure what happened on Fever pitch as I was over a second off what I had managed in a brief practice. Yeah, this. It's critical I think to know the tracks, and to remember - as frustrated as you get (and there was a lot of "what the fuck"s on the playbacks I've watched) - that we're all in the same crew and on the same team. The OP says it clearly, and by signing up you agreed to abide by it - that a positive attitude is the most important thing you can have. So 1. Know the tracks well enough to know where the pits are, 2. All the love for your fellow Nodomites.

Just to add I've done a few races on Fever Pitch and either because those races were mostly non GTA or because the pit lane isn't near the start finish I had come to the incorrect conclusion that the track didn't actually have a pit lane. Will try to avoid a repeat.

So first of all thanks everyone for the preseason test, there were some things I learned that will be helpful for the Season. On Chaps the first 2 laps I had were really really bad. In this 2 laps I hit 2 Jester´s in the back because I was braking too late. Kaleeb42 and Tonyborbony I´m really sorry about that. So the first thing I´ve learned is that a 770 has to brake abit earlier then the other cars, mainly the Jester. After the horrible first 2 laps I was braking much earlier when someone in a different car was infront of me and I had no more issues. On Fever Pitch I had a clean race and no big problems. Well in one lap I had a problem with fences who randomly fell down infront of me, but I guess that´s karma for the first race.. But on Fever Pitch I learned another important thing and that is to practice atleast a few laps in the rain aswell. I lost about 5 positions in a few laps because I was doing really bad in the rain. Overall I was surprised how balanced and how close the different cars were to each other. That was nice to see. Ofcourse without the safety cars it could have been more spread out but it was a good choice to call out some SC´s, now everyone knows how to do it and we had more battles on the track. Anyways the best thing was to see that it seems like everyone had fun and a positive attitude. If we can keep it like this it will be a great season for everyone. PS: Sorry for the long text and maybe some weird english here and there.

Working on a highlight video, can't be arsed to upload the entire thing. (which is kind of backwards but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

UPDATES
Cars With the pace confirmed in the pre-season testing, we are lights out for the start of Season 5.
If anyone wants to make chances to:
* Their car * Their livery * Their sponsors
Please do so before that first race.
I was really impressed with the pace, guys, with the cars performing as I'd hoped but not expected.
Grids
The grids for the first two races will be randomised. After that, the results for each odd race will influence the grids for the next odd race; same for evens. P1-12 will start in reverse order from their finish on the odds, so if you win at Parsons you start Race 3 in P12. P13-28 will start as they finished. Missing or not finishing a race is an auto-last place start.
What I expect is that the top 12 for both Parsons and Montreal will be as you'd expect, but by at least races 5 and 6 things will be properly settled down.
Any point at which Progen don't start 27th and 28th is to be labelled "rigged", as is any position you don't like. That's just tradition; unsure if it is ever actually representative of the sentiment of those expressing it or not.
Attitude
Last season, our Rookie of the Year was Tonyborbony. Tony won this award convincingly from near-champion Smithy, with his teammate Tspoon in third. The reason Tony won was that no matter what position he finished he was never salty, never angry, and never upset. Always positive, always joking, and always fun to be around.
It's not just me saying it, the drivers in S4 agreed en masse than Tony's attitude got him over the line. So look to his video and his commentary and his positivity as a sign of an ideal SAGTC driver.
Danke je wel, Tony.
LAAAAGGGG
I held off a lot of overtakes because I know latency is an issue. I think I hit Kaleeb with at least a car-length long invisible battering ram at the hairpin.
Latency is three things:
1) Fucking annoying 2) A two way street 3) The responsibility of the person lagging and the people passing to manage
After our amazing crash, Ovivo and I spoke on steam. I apologised even though on my screen he PIT manoeuvred me. He apologised too and said had he realised it was me he wouldn't have tried to make the move.
The videos show nobody, even poor human pinball Mich, firing up. No "what the actual flying fuckity fuck fucks!" were uttered. We know it's an issue.
So, my advice is, if you try and pass me in a corner where I'm rapidly inputting commands (tapping brake or throttle + steering) the game is going to have trouble syncing us up and issues will be had. If you have to pass me, do it sensibly. I'll do the same with you, and we'll both enjoy our racing more.
Much <3
