Would it be worth adding a minimum duration between purges of lets say 4 weeks so that the admins are not having to deal with new people like me quite so often? Do you think the volumes of people trying to join will stay the same, increase or decrease after a couple of months? If the number is going to increase then it seems to me like a second crew would be required but I don't know what would be the best way to organise it, maybe have the existing nodo and then a nodo events crew. I think this is true plus someone has to process the invites. Not sure if spaces on the crew corelate to forum sign-ups (though new people might not know that the crew status doesn't do much on the forum). Right now I think the problem simply is that there are more active players wanting to be in NoDo (including those who are in the crew) than the crew can handle. Purging won't help for long, I guess. Will most likely just switch out the muscles, though those thrown out might notice it first. Surely the way Broughy's channel is growing right now is some factor in this, which means there will be more people who want to join the crew in the near future (so it would fill up even faster). Not sure what an event crew would do as the events are not depending on the crew status (except for the host). In fact many people will have one of the crews featured in the pitlane set as active. Also crew invites are not relyable for events, everything goes over Social Club. That invite idea could only work if it is completely automated. Otherwise it surely is just way too much work. If there would be two crews in the end, I'd rather have a "I act acording to the guidelines, even in free roam"-crew and a "I like clean racing but usually kill everything in sight"-crew.

I'm not on PC but it'll apply to ps4 eventually.
I think two crews should do it.
One crew will be the original PC crew, but purge everyone and make it invite only for people who have become representatives, no muscles at all, only reps and higher.
That way the second crew can be open and be filled with the people that CBA to sign up to the forums or only join the crew because they think it'll let them get on a stream with Broughy.
The first crew will have more capacity for us who do events and sign up and follow the rules because the muscle ranks arnt mixed with us. Once the first crew hits 1000 we do the purge ridding us of reps who stopped racing, using Barron's social tools thing.
The second crew really won't matter because it's a bunch of plebs and we can just vacate it like we normally do when it hits 1000.
From my understanding the crews fill so much because of muscle ranks, who from my experience don't even race when invited.
It adds more work for the comms, but I feel like overall the positives outweigh the negatives. I know we don't want an invite only crew nor skill splitting, but this is more of a split in commitment of the crew members who join. Those who want to be active and partake and are at least representatives (not necessarily active on the forums, another issue that this does resolve because we're not punishing those who arnt active forum wise but do participate) like myself and the regulars stay in this crew we're already in.
Those who CBA get their own seperste crew and they can race amoung themselves or step up and join us.
The only issue I we is that we can only do this once. Once both crews are hitting 1000 regularly I don't think it'll be viable to add a third crew

Please don't purge me! I know I've not been active on the forums or the weekly races. It just so happens that the weekly races just don't work for me during the summer time. Car rentals are insanely busy. I'll be back with full force in about september/október

Just try to be online once or twice a week and do the things that are necessary (if there are any), then nothing should happen. As soon as the crew gets purged this Wednesday, you can rejoin the crew on SC. Make sure to follow these instructions and you'll promoted to the rank of a representative. This rank protects you from the monthly purges in 95% of the cases. The commissioners are currently working on a new system, but up until then there's not a lot you can do (even if you were more active) other than following their instructions on "how not to get purged".

I've been thinking FriendlyBaron about an idea for how two crews could work. Since having two crews would split the player base it could be used for different things. For example, we have 1,000 members but maybe half have never joined an event or something. So why don't we have NoDo PC as it is for just anyone, people join but don't join events just race in random lobbies. Like jt said And the other crew for either events (although a work round is that many events use these pit lane crews like SATCC and stuff) OR one for the Daily Playlist. A vast majority of NoDo players that join TS are primarily in the Daily Playlists. So if we had a crew just for the Daily Playlist/Events and one for general people who just found NoDo through Broughy it could solve the issue. The only other thing would go back to how the OG crew was and you had to post in the forums to join the crew, I know it's against this openness of nodo but it is filling up too fast. I feel as although NoDo has grown since becoming an open crew, in the past 12 months or so (this is from the perspective of a primarily PS4 player) the sense of community has been less, almost washed out. A year and a half ago, maybe just a year ago, everyone was close in the PS4 crew. We knew everyone well, and had a real sense of community. Since more and more have joined, some on slack just to get race invites and not interested in communicating like a community. I'm not saying this is a completely bad thing, but I've always felt NoDo more as a community than a crew. With it becoming so big, there are so many new people I don't know. Although I'm glad it became open as it allowed many people to join who I get on really well with, I feel the crew, or should I say Broughy, has and is becoming too big for an open crew to handle if we want to stay a community. 1,000 members in the crew but how many do you actually know? I'm not saying or trying to force anything, I'm just putting a view across that reasons with a closed crew again. Or maybe just a second crew for events and daily playlists. Although I'm not experienced with how the PC crew is, atm the PS4 crew isn't filling up fast enough to warrant a second crew, but PC seems to be exponentially growing. Sorry for the essay

Not sure where to put this on the forums, so i assume this is an okay place to post it. I was away during the last representative crew purge (was on a 3week holiday and i had set Nodo as my active crew incase of a purge) but yet I got kicked...I joined back as soon as I came home and just now realised I am no longer a representative. I don't know if either of you ( Sugar_Free_Nos or FriendlyBaron) could re-promote me or if I would have to re-apply as representative. Please respond asap.

Crews will never be invite only. The open to join for all policy is what a lot of people (including myself) really appreciate, and makes the crew accessable for all skill-levels. But, in practical terms, how is that different to having an R*SC message saying register at forums to get the invite? We do this anyway. Random joins NoDo. Random either a) Registers on forum, gets involved, gets promoted to rep, stays. OR b) Ignores that shit and gets purged every 6 days. So you basically enforce the forum route anyway...

More effort than weekly/biweekly purges? Depends if FriendlyBaron can find a way to incorporate it in his socialtool, but still. Keeping track of all aplications for an invite would be a pain in the ass aswell. This subject is being discussed for a while amongs Comm's lately, and pretty much everybody agrees I.O. is not our preference as of yet.
