Can we stop calling debates and explaining our opinions 'complaining'. He wants our opinion and as long as we dont cross a line and remain civil its fine. There are 2 sides and we need to know if pros outweight the cons or vice versa. Ill post a summary after I come home in a few hours.
Edit: Tl;dr, if you complain about complaining, then you are the only one complaining atm.

It's been less than 24 hours since this thread was made. People are already complaining about rules of an event people they join voluntarily. You have your opinions, no need to post 4 pages on it. Say it once and leave it there people are calmly having a discussion where they voice their different opinions on the matter of event rules (which the OP specifically asks for suggestions on) no need to make a chicken out of a feather and as an event host id be honored to see people caring so much for the event tbh. theres no ill intent in any post just people who have an opinion on what would fit the event better

Shame there isn't a summer break planned in. Wonder how many reserves will be required. However I'm pretty exited! Hope this championship will contain another brilliant van race. Yeah, not a popular opinion. But I stand for vans since they're the best class in the game!

Hey Broughy,
I would like to participate in the GT4 class, but I have only been playing in the crew sessions for a short time. Do you know when any of the NoDo racing events that I can complete in will happen, as I have not done one (only stream playlists) and I would really like to participate. I have been watching you since 5K subs and I have watched the full three previous seasons of the MCEC. It would mean the world if I could compete.
Also, if there is not time for me to qualify for the championship, I might be available to help run the event on Xbox One some weeks.
Yours sincerely, Jake Connellan (Jiros7 - RSC & Xbox Live) (jiros7gaming - Twitch)

Say it once and leave it there Broughy right now They're discussing rules, IN A DISCUSSION THREAD? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? Forreal tho discussion and debate have been encouraged as this is the appropriate time and place, and as yet it hasn't yet devolved into insults and drama. Stop complaining about the complaining which is actually constructive debate.

Since Broughy asked for some opinions I'll drop one thing I really want to see return.
I would love to see the podiums from season 1 and season 2 back with the winner from each class. Last season there wasn't really time for it, but I kinda missed it. It was cool.

Personally I agree with Doom and Blade (and the others that agreed with them). For those of us that have full time jobs, families and real life stuff to monitor and balance just for one race every few weeks, any extra time needed on car setups is time wasted.
To tell us that we shouldn't enter because we don't have the time to find this magical set up us rude. I'd rather be beaten on track because someone is actually better than me, not because they've fiddled with every imaginable setup going.
I also don't have the cash to do this, some of us are already expected to grind for a few hours just to get a car for each race. When some car parts are tens of thousands of dollars, there's a point where you have to draw the line.

And you don't even know if you're going to get in yet, so it might just be all for nothing -situation where you have grinded to get the money for the setup and then don't even make it in the event.

Awesome! So hyped to get back into this. I have been in all previous seasons and I'd love to take part once again.

Ok I'll also give my two cents on the setup discussion: Banning setups is stupid in my opinion. MCEC is supposed to be the championship for the best racers in the crew and everyone who races longer than a year should know what car he likes and which car he doesn't like. Also you should be able to tell which setups you like and which you don't like because when you casually race you see if a car is driving nice or not. I had severe problems driving my Massacro and my Elegy, then I changed a few things, spoilers, bumpers - and I was significantly better. For PS4s COTM I experimented with a lot of setups and there were 1 week breaks between the races. In total I needed about 1-2 hours to get the setup I want. Just so you know: I work full time, study full time parallel to working and I have a big flat and a girlfriend, so plenty of things I need to care about, still I have time to experiment. Time is not an issue here and just a lame excuse for people who don't want to put as much effort in this as possible. If you allow setups, everyone will be happy, because if you want to build your own you can do it but if you don't want to do it you can just stick to what's already on your car. It still comes down to preference and it will not make you a better driver or the car faster. It has something to do with handling and personal preference when it comes to driving styles. CHILLI made an awesome document where you can gain a lot of insides to the game mechanics in terms of handling that might help if you want to test some things. If you just stick with default bumpers, suspension and tires, you won't be slower. Conclusion: If I have a fully customised setup I will not be able to beat Merphos or Smithy in a stock setup but I will feel comfortable with how my car behaves. #longassessay #dontbansetups #freethesetup #covfefe

Broughy1322 I can help out with things on the PS4 side if need be. If you're planning on doing the same sort of recording as last season then I can help out with that too.

Okay I guess that's fair about being told not to sign up, but remember that the set ups don't make *that much* of a difference in terms of performance. It's more for people to loath a car slightly less by making it behave better, or giving it a setup they'd prefer (like oversteer vs understeer in a MRC or DRC). 1:30 is a lot of time in a car, it'd be nice to change it around. And if someone really doesn't care to fine tune the car, then they can just make the car look pretty at least

Also Broughy1322 I can help with the organisation and give suggestions for PS4. I'm active on Slack and the forums everyday and hosting a big championship as well this year. Might help when it comes to the questions which community tracks to use and which driver should drive in which gt
