I understand both sides kinda so i'd be fine with just calling it a racing accident. I'd have to agree with though jeffrey that it'd be kind of stupid that i have to go slower because someone in front of me wants to use mdsb..

The long and short of it is the MDSB is totally fine, and so I'm not going to ask people to stop doing it. Which means we need to learn how to deal with it, if it's problematic.
As for the lap one pit -you are required X mandatory pits per block of 10 laps. (Which confuses people every race, don't worry - "it's 24 laps, so how many pits?" happens all the damned time). That mandatory number is not considered taken if you go on the first lap because everyone just got their first out of the way on lap one. The pit stops allow for damage repair, yes; but they also, more crucially, change the strategy of the race. Very rarely are people pitting on lap 2. Stepa and Cloud were going as long as they could without pitting, to build a gap in their banshees. It's changed up the structure of the race and for the better.
So, it'll stay. Now of course you can pit on Lap 1 to repair damage. But it won't count to your total. Similarly if on lap 16/24 you've done your third pit then have a suspension damaging accident, you aren't banned from the pits. You can go pit at your leisure. It doesnt' put you in pitstop credit for the next race either. There's X mandatory stops per race and you can't take any of them on lap 1. That's all.

jeffreyb1990 , as endersai has already taken these perspectives into account and given an official ruling. I understand that it can be a frustrating mechanic, but it is a part of racing in GTA. Keep in mind that this works both ways; if they MDSB into you out of a turn it's their fault. Further, it doesn't really give any one car a distinct advantage save perhaps the Banshee on a few select tracks, and believe me when I say the tracks are thoroughly vetted beforehand to ensure that any advantage on one track is balanced by another track. This is why Endersai has always stressed racecraft. The race isn't won on turn one, nor is the season won on race one. The podiums at the end of the season typically reflect that. Regarding rule changes, you're right; just because a rule was in season 1 doesn't mean it should be carried over or can't be improved upon. However, I think Endersai does a good job of staying in tune with what he feels is best for the competition. Ultimately, that's the goal of the series; competition. I can understand that you may not have been aware of it, but that doesn't mean the rule isn't well-founded. If I remember correctly it was put in place to avoid people gaining an unfair advantage by pitting during a safety car and re-entering the track before the race resumed (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If I'm not mistaken this was your first forray into the series. I hope that these growing pains dissuade you from competing next season. It really is a fun series. EDIT: nvm - ender dun sed teh rite ting

It doesnt' put you in pitstop credit for the next race either. There's X mandatory stops per race and you can't take any of them on lap 1. That's all. I think the pitrule could be improve. Why was it introduced? To prevent drivers to go into the pits on the first lap just because they start in the back and don't want to be involved into battles. This is the main reason why pits on lap 1 are not allowed. It does more strategy than just pitting lap 1 and 2 and 3. what could be improved? I think we could have a slight change to the rule: No pits in 1 lap! In case of an safety car in the first lap drivers are allowed to take pitstops which then count towards their mandatory pits. This would allow drivers with damaged cars to take a pitstop without having even more disadvantages by going around damaged one more lap. This change would also add to strategy because those drivers would drive on a diffrent strategy than the others and most likely have to battle other cars by strategy. Also in regards of safety it would be not right to let a damaged car go around the track for 1 lap and be a potential thread to viewers and drivers. For the MDSB I don't see an issue. If there is a crash it has to be looked at just like any other crash. Either it is the fault of one driver or a racing incident.

Is it also stupid that you have to go slower because people use different braking lines than you do when entering into turns? Well, maybe that explains all of the terrible bullshit that happens in the daily playlist around the first corner. We've got too many people that think their racing lines and habits should be respected without doing the same for the other drivers on the track. Am I going to be penalized because I brake much earlier for a turn than other people do? What if I brake much later? It comes down to respect for other drivers and what habits they have for whatever car they might be in.

Thats just not the same... being brake checked on a corner exit, not to mention there are no brake lights when someone hits the handbrake all for some bullshit ridiculous mechanic.

I have been asked to voice my thoughts on the MDSB usage.
It has happened to me a few times during regular races, maybe only once or twice in the event(s), that I am forced to practically park my car on corner exit because someone in front of me attempts to boost. The driver in front has one primary responsibility - to make predictable movements. Knowing that the game doesnt fully sync what gear the car is in nor the revs I would not consider boosting particularly predictable. While you can probably guess that the driver is going to do it there just isnt enough space or time to move to the side before the car in front suddenly crawls to a halt before quickly taking off like a rocket.
Divebombing is usually frowned upon because parking your car on the apex isnt cool. I'd add getting stopped at or after corner exit because of the driver in front of me to the list of no-no's. In about 1/4 of the times someone has boosted in front of me I've had a really good corner exit, but it turns out that my line cuts through theirs. I can live with having to adjust to a slower driver, but I shouldnt have to feel the need to panic brake because someone goes from slow to crawling without any warning. Then to pour salt in the wound said slow car magicly takes off and my would've-been awesome corner exit is ruined.
My suggestion wouldnt be to ban it. The problem is that sometimes the driver in front picks a terrible time to do it and doesnt take the consequences into account. My suggestion would be to treat it as a case of overtaking but the other way around. If there isnt space between you and the car behind to do it without forcing the car behind to lift the throttle (or go so far to even brake) it should not be allowed. It already gives the banshee enough of an advantage to accelerate at such an insane rate, there's no need to slow others down in the process.

Just to be clear though, having seen the suggestion from Ovivo - no changes will be made to the rule about the mandatory pitstops not being taken in Lap 1. Even with damage.

Although I would personally prefer it, it was never my goal to get the MDSB banned, The_Bad_Loser. Because banning it will probably never happen. The suggestion CHILLI made is exactly the thing I would like to see and endersai hasn't ruled about that yet.

I'm still of the opinion that if you aren't able to control your car enough to not try and jam it up my tailpipe on the exit of a turn where I'm slowing down considerably and staying tight on the inside -through the whole turn, exit and all-, then maybe you need to slow down some and put a bit more distance between us.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular. Keeping the car on the inside at the exit is a good strategy to make sure the boost is done in a relatively safe spot. I was referring more to when people follow the optimal racing line and slow down for no apparent reason, or they dont move away from the racing line enough before doing it.
Anyway, I'll leave the final decision up to Endersai from here. It's his event after all, so his word is law.

Pass or slow down too are the only options in a clean racing environment.
simple as that
