I recently put together this massive 1.1km oval, complete with a proper curved front-stretch which may be worthy of consideration. There's an alternative "bumping" method I want to try on this track to expand the groove which should be less abrasive versus the "bumping" method I have used on previous tracks.
I have not implemented that yet (the soonest I'll be able to do that and run test runs on more tracks is about a week from now) but you can take a little test drive on the track in its current condition and see if you like it (try a Broughcar-spec Dominator for best results).
I sorta promised some people I'd have a proper schedule figured out in a week.Thank goodness this thread is buried in the complete section so people have probably forgotten about that by now. Well, it's gonna take me a little longer to figure things out. Yes, I do have 8 tracks and 8 dates lined up, but I'm not confident I want to roll with those 8 tracks. There should be plenty of other events to hold you all over while I figure out something for this event.
Most of the race dates are figured out, the one thing I'm trying to figure out is whether I want to host a race on the July 1st date or not. I'm a little weary of hosting that close to the 4th of July and seeing some of our American participants understandably decide to bow out, but also I'd like most of the Broughcar dates to be on the Saturday following an SAGTC race--and advantage to the schedule as it is currently planned is that participants in both events can still enjoy a 2-week gap between any races in either event during SAGTC's midseason break, and enjoy another 2-week gap during SAGTC's final break.
Some remarks on track choices (not an entirely exhaustive list of how I feel about the schedule):
-Xero Speedway is a sure lock in the event as the multi-groove racing has been rather incredible--in fact the racing groove widened out almost all the way to the wall last season. Although that race went on a little longer than expected last time race distance will still be 60 laps.
-Grand Senora Stadium is a sure lock as I want a Slamvan race in season 2 and this track is well-suited for just that. I still need to do touch-ups on the visuals and I'm debating whether I should take measures to widen the racing groove, but the track will show up in some form as the season opener for S2.
-I have not tested the 2017 version of Grotti F1 Montreal yet. I am giving serious consideration to the inclusion either of the 2016 or 2017 version of this track but wish to do more vehicle testing to see what works well--Gauntlet or Dominator will both provide great racing, but I want to test to see if this could also work well as a Slamvan track.
-Lando-Corp Speedway from November of last year may return for this year, but I'm thinking of making some revisions to it. Namely, I am considering lowering the banking in turn 1 from 10 degree to 8 degrees (turn 2 would stay at 10 degrees) and doing some work to smooth the banking transitions in both turns.
-On road courses in general: As we're dealing with cars that don't handle very well, this event is in a unique position to use tracks with wide stunt piece corners which with other vehicles may simply not be interesting enough to provide a good race.
-Baron I'm giving some consideration to your road course but I haven't made any recent tests on it and was not too fond of the tight sections on the first go around.
-As Lifeinvader and Redwood share similar characteristics as very fast ovals, I'm not sure if I want to run them both in the same season, though Lifeinvader does have the unique "convex" banking on corner entry and exit.
-reavous I have not tested your revised Gnarlington track yet but I am interested in using it for season 2 as it has some rather unique characteristics to it.
