gud test my freind kasumiAnyways, im gonna try that 120 lock and see what i can get. Also, i've tried the "Fast" vSync option in nVidia control panel and it's lovely. I can play at any framerate and no stuttering, no tearing, just perfect smooth gameplay. I did experience some stutter when locking to 60 using RivaTuner, but that does say that vSync will fuck it up so.. that might be why. Btw i might do a similar test to u with unlocked fps. My cpu allows 180-ish FPS without killing itself. It should be a decent test.

yeah nice, looking forward to see this test. according to story's test on spa you should go so much faster, as we saw in his video. I was expecting a 15 sec+ better laptime but still he only had 3 seconds difference. I think unlocked fps is basically like cheating. But we will see. Maybe you can do that on kloden's spa aswell and also with the nero. Just if u don't mind and have the pleasure to do so

Can somebody tell me about AMD and Vsnyc? My game runs at 60fps (60hz) with the ingame vsync. should i overwrite it with the amd vsync? And can you find some consent to all this? This thread starts with a clear statement and the more i read the less i seem to know.

Nobody can know for sure what works best for you personally but yourself. Try both and see what you like better. If it's not faster or smoother there's obviously no point in changing, but if there is, it's up to you if you want to use it. The reason this thread is so confusing is because there are no definitive answers right now. Testing is being made with different settings and FPS-numbers to find those answers lots of people are looking for.

I have started to test this stuff now and i made this video: Note that, this is not a 100% accurate test, this is just my first test out of 10. I'm going to do those 10 and get an avarage time for every setting and compare those. I made some major mistakes in all the laps, but they are closer than what i was expecting. Also, on another note StoryVS, what setup do you have and what settings are you running? My CPU limits itself to 50% and i can't go very high on the FPS because of it.. Anyone have any suggestions? This is really annoying me and i've tried everything i could think of and haven't found any good solutions on google.

I7 4790k and GTX 1070 I've tested and i can say very certainly that it's the CPU usage limit thing that's causing me to have lower FPS. I tried lowering the resolution in game and it made no difference what so ever, which leads me to believe that the Graphics card isn't the limiting factor here.

How high is your GPU usage with unlocked FPS? it's somewhere between 50-70% depending on location, but the CPU usage stays the same at all times.

The problem isn't that the CPU is struggling to run the game. It's the complete opposite, the game isn't utilizing the full capabilities of the CPU.

Interesting, have you tried starting it on high priority or setting the minimum processor state to 100% in the power settings?
