Fast vsync doesn't cap your fps. It's just vsync off, but it should fix screen tearing. I'm trying out adaptive now and my game seems to run smoother. However I don't think I'm faster now. Edit: I'm suddenly 0.3-0.5 seconds faster on 1:20 laptimes. And you just enable it on the Nvidia Configuration screen? Just GTA.exe right? im gonna try it myself tonight some options that also works well with gta in the in the nvidia settings Anisotropic filtering: Application-controlled Anti-Aliasing - Gamma correction: Off Anti-Aliasing - Mode: Override any application setting Anti-Aliasing - Setting: 2xQ Anti-Aliasing - Transparency: Multisampling Maximum pre-rendered frames: 3 Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Single display performance mode Power management mode: Prefer maximum performance Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization: On Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias: Clamp Texture filtering - Quality: Quality Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization: On Threaded optimization: Auto Triple buffering: On Vertical sync: Adaptive

tonysoprano1985 Do those settings in Nvidia overwrite the settings you have in GTA itself? Or do i have to chance stuff in gtav options itself?

I've set this all up in my nvidia thingy majingy, but none of the Vsync functions limit my GTA to 60.. its always way above it Even adaptive (half reresh) Anyone got an idea how to cap it, tried rivatuner but thats weird ass poop aswell lol

I am in fullscreen I could never get mine to work either, tried a bunch of stuff, but it never took effect. I gave up due to lack of motivation, as my system works fine with Rivatuner limiting fps. If you're stuck with 62/63 fps, you have a treasure of pure performance waiting for you mate.

I think Oh_Darn missed out on some important details in his post. I was the Zentorno he mentioned and i was running anywhere between 130-180 FPS, which means lots of fluctuations (which according to Chilli is the deciding factor to if you get FPS-Boosts or not). Your framerate in your test is consistent, locked, and i think we can all agree that locked framerates aren't different. I have tried my very hardest to replicate my laptime i got in that race (a 1:28.5 on Grotti F1 Zan-Cudo 2017 by Ovivo). But on 60FPS i've been unsucessful so far. I'm still a second off, but i believe it's possible, however i also believe i might be able to improve that unlocked FPS time as well. I've been following this thread for a while now, mainly because i love playing on high FPS and making use of my expensive Gfx-Card that i bought. But since GTA makes it this hard to get comparable performance to others who are running lower framerates, it's become a war between "60 fps lock everything" , "idgaf about fps boost" and also "fps makes no difference". I hate that. I have the more lighthearted look at it, run whatever fps you feel comfortable with in normal casual races, and lock to 60 in events that tell you to. Keep researching and testing guys and gals, it's very much apreciated and i love to see your results!

If I remember correctly cloudmcshort u have a 120hz monitor. Why do you not lock your fps to 120 since there is really absolutely no reason in games like gta to have higher fps than your refresh rate. Your cpu usage goes crazy. Then try to beat that lap, you can't do it since it will be the same speed 120 vs 60 I'am playing at 120 aswell, ( 120 because I bought a controller a couple days ago and the 24 fps to 144 are not that noticeable @ not having them with the controller compared to keyboard and mouse gameplay ) to play with way higher settings like grass high and some other stuff turned up .There is obviously an issue with unlocked fps that I would like to test but I can't. My cpu is limiting and if I go higher than 156 fps I'd have frames losses and stuttering like crazy. Anyways here is another test for you my fren cloudmchoke <3 I lof yuo
