Agree with Spartan. Although I have alway HATED off-road tires. I would never ban them in any event I would host. Nor would I ban any car in any class. More choices = more fun IMO. I also can't stand choked tracks loaded with 100 barriers. I keep my tracks as open as possible. Feel free to miss that lamppost. Barriers do not stop bulbs from falling as well as a shitload of added pedestrians added to next gen. But on the other hand, if anyone likes restricted tracks I respect that and to sum it all up. Freedom of choice makes this crew Awesome! As mentioned, certain members of this crew put in an insane number of laps to master "GTA 5 racing" valuable and appreciated info. For nothing with more and more restrictions. Thank you, have a blessed day brothers!

Okay, well represented points by Broughy there pretty much explaining the point of anyone who has a good understanding of the game, racing and community management. I salute you sir.
So, some of this may be repeating the same as Broughy said and for that i apologise. Many of you will have read through my previous thread on this matter and seen my views so i'll try and not write another essay. But who knows.
Without sounding too personal the rules Shaggy implements suit himself. He is a smooth and consistent driver so therefore keeping it all to the track is in his own interests and it undeniably creates some good races as we see in his videos. What i'd like you to remember as NoDo's is the difference between us and SB. SB race almost exclusively 2 classes, and in those two classes its virtually two cars, the Feltzer and the Turismo. We as a crew run virtually every class in the game and many people choose other cars due to personal preference. We are also an open crew rather than an invite only based on performance. We also race in many different groups and friend circles whereas the core members of SB race each other day in and day out.
These core differences in our crews make a huge impact when we are discussing rules such as this. So in my opinion if an event organiser wants to run an event where everyone has to use pink tire smoke that should be hes prerogative and not up for moaning. In general i think a blanket ban on anything day to day is virtually unpoliceable and rather a lot of work for anyone in a position of power.
My view is that if you want to create tracks where everything is blocked off, go ahead. It's your right as the track designer. Personally my tracks will eliminate most obvious pole cuts and dangerous poles to hit but 90% of the track is open to your own driving style. If a NoDo wants to run an event with no Elegy/ no Zentorno / no offroads its up to you whether to join it or not. The restrictions that are proposed across the board go entirely against the "open to join" crew policy. Looking down on someone for using a specific wheel type is something I endured for months last year and it does not feel good at all.
Please remember I speak from the Xbox side of affairs and people who race more exclusively with the SB guys may have differing opinions.

In my opinion, these rules are becoming far too complicated. Obviously, I think we would all like to see a change from rockstar with the curb boost and tyres working differently, but what was wrong with off-road tyres. People might want to have high end tyres because their more of a challenge for the driver and that's fine, but like broughy said, it's too difficult to police in a crew that has masses of people. I don't think the community is big enough for rockstar to acknowledge and respond to problems such as turbo and curb boosting because it's not a lot of people in proportion to all the people who play GTA to get hold of their attention. To conclude, I think rules should stay as they were, but just as a proposal, we could do a lot more races that stop curb boosting from happening in a racing situation.

Personally I have never bought into the off-road tyres or kerb boosting. I usually stick to what tyre I think looks good on my car. I do tend to use the same muscle wheel on most of my cars because it looks like a racing wheel. I do not go out of my way to kerb boost, but I will bump a kerb if it is on the racing line and does not involve sidewalk surfing. I do not think absolute restrictions should be placed on racing. I think if it is an event, the organizer can choose to bar tyre selection if they want, but general racing use what you want. I will not scoff at someone using off-road tyres because I was too stubborn to not use them. Kerb boost is an unfortunate mechanic that we all are going to have to deal with. I think it should be a gentlemens agreement amoung us to not sidewalk surf or abandon racing line to kerb boost. This holds especially true for when a race is neck and neck. If you are a hotlapper, do what ever you want to achieve the best lap time when you are alone. There are no real ways to implement punishments outside of throwing the kitchen sink and kicking people from the crew. TL;DR?: do what you like in good taste amongst people with similar mindset. Try not overly exploit a mechanic just to win a race, because we are all here to have fun, and it really is not necessary if you rightfully earned that 1st. Also relevant

NODO is an open crew with an interest in racing. It should stay that way.

Me again. Quick point i forgot to make. If your searching for a boost breaks a rule of racing i.e weaving and blocking it should not be done. If your cut across the road affects nobody else you go right ahead sir. I will now lurk in this thread and hiss at people who cross me *evil laugh*

It don't matter if you win using curbs or off-road tires. Winning's winning.

Well said Broughy, keep it open. Events can have their own rules but as a whole hot lapping, playlists, non-event races should let you do whatever the hell you want. That's the reason I think sweat buckets is crazy. Basically the rich get richer because the best drivers will lead and the worse drivers don't stand a chance in hell because you have to keep up with people who are on all the time and know the car like they made the damn thing by hand. If the rules change then I will ignore the rules because that's not what I enjoy. Offroads make it easier to race that way but you still have to react super fast which is what I like. So if the ban hammer comes I'll just do this.

Although it isn't a proper racing game, racing = racing. But it's never good for everybody, so some people will have troubles with the decision in the future.
I could understand the off road tires are better at bumps because it is that way irl, but than the high end tires should give more traction. And that isn't the case here. The off road tires are significantly better than all tires combined, the others are all very close. So what I did is, I just went back to the old gta days where nobody knew about the performance of tires and I took the tires I liked at a certain car, if I want to have tuners on my feltzer so be it, if you want to have pink dollar rims on your adder so be it. The difference between tuners - high end is almost nothing, only off roads are a lot better and that is only on bumps, nothing to do with traction. So just take the tires you like that suit your car best.
If I can take a pavement to get a better angle for a corner I'd take it. But it's also up to the creator to block off the curbs if he/she doesn't want it. But curbsurfing (curbs on long straights) can never be blocked off. Well, I'm not saying curb boosting should be banned. But curb surfing, just an example: when on a straight with a pavement with little bumps the surfer will go on the pavement. But someone else would just stick to the racing line next to the pavement. Than the corner comes up so the guy on the pavement needs to get of but can't because he is next to/ bit in front of the guy on the racing line. So he has only got 2 options, crash somewhere or pit himself on the 2nd guy. Who's fault is it than, he pits himself because he needed to get of the pavement but the other guy was sticking to his racing line.. You can always run wide out of a corner and touch the curb, but getting them on straights is a decision that you take and this should be allowed imo. The chances of hitting lampposts or others increase a lot if you see some people do getting max curbs. Also imo there is only 1 curbs line but multiple racing lines to battle, so curbs cause that you almost never have a battle.
Just my view on it. Take the tires you like for esthetics not for performance. Don't ban curb boosts but ban curb surfing on straights.

You guys enjoy the off road tyres, just as everyone did at one point. I mean i know the joys off clipping that curb and overtaking someone with that extra speed, and also the downsides of failing to grip that curb firmly with 4 wheels, and i've ended up molesting the pole and leaving it in the path for some unfortunate soul to mess up on. also the whole light bulb thing, you know what i mean.
Also you find the off roads fun, the car is predictable and stuff and in my opinion its too easy to drive and is quite boring. With the cars being slower its just even more easier, there is literally 00.01% chance of you over steering with off road tyres unless you dont have enough skill to drive. What I'm trying to say is, using the correct tyres for each car class brings back, balance and a more natural feel to the car. and the most undeniable thing is that High End tyres take a lot more skill to use and control that it does with off road tyres.

Having regulations in a sport is good sometimes. How would F1 look today if there were no regulations? Traction control, active suspension? The car would practically drive by itself. Now where's the sport in that?
My view on GTA racing is quite simple. Stick to the limits of the road and race. Slapping on off-road tires reduces the amount of attention the driver has to pay to his vehicle. Why should we restrict our individual limits? We all already know that racing on GTA is far too easy. So if there's a little tweak that makes it a tiny bit more difficult, wouldn't that be worth taking?
Now I'm not telling you people that this is the only way to race, I'm only telling you to at least here me out and test this method. I remember after the SB v NoDo crew battle, people slating us (SB) for not racing "properly". We listened to you and proved that we are very capable to race properly. Now we are asking you to take a step towards a more proper racing world, can't you prove to us that you are capable to do that?
I'm aware that some people on a twitch chat has been a bit hostile towards certain individuals. If feelings got hurt, message me and tell me about what happened.
I don't know if my message is clear to every single one of you, so if there's any questions you can just PM me. Most of us here are adults so there's no point in throwing dirt back and forth. That gets us nowhere.

That gets us nowhere. Except in any proper race series, any exploit possible is taken advantage of to the nth degree. Even in spec series'. I don't actually like the curb boosts. The OR tires don't bother me as much, but yea I'd rather run different wheels. My favorite car to drive in game is the Turismo R, because it's just so well-balanced and the steering is amazing. If Rockstar came out tomorrow with a patch that removed the curb boost glitch and added more traction to vehicles running high-end or sport tires, I'd be a happy guy. That being said, in a supers race I'm 90% of the time running a Zentorno with OR tires and I'm using curb boosts as much as I am able. Why? Because I want to win and I'll take every advantage to do so. Until Rockstar patches this stuff, I'm not changing this approach.

Another point, classes such as coupes where offroads make NO difference. Do we justify banning offroads on classes where they make zero difference?
