Heard shaggy/gun1t123 say in his death valley grand prix video (btw, horrible looking track, imo) that based on some "inside information" that curb/pavement boosting will be patched, possible around next-gen release date.
Just curious on everyone's thoughts?

I didn't know the pavement/curb gave you a boost. Interesting... Anyways, it really won't affect me as I do not use the curb or pavement when racing.

Excuse me, it is the Horse Grand Prix video, sorry. There is a section he calls the "death valley", essentially a bunch of stupid barrier placements that would totally ruin your day if you hit them. He begins to talk about it at the 0:58 mark, but the link begins at 0:50 mark so you can hear him say "inside information." IMO, I don't mind driving on the sidewalks. If you've got the skill to thread that needle at 120 mph to get a better line on your corners, more power to you. I just don't think they should also get an acceleration boost for being a daredevil. That's almost like giving catchup to drivers in the back because they suck. You'll never keep people off the sidewalks in the races without more available props to completely barricade them off.

Inside information? Isn't that also known as rumour and conjecture?

So that track is actually good and if you hit the barriers then its on you honestly they are far enough back off the road that if you hit them you fucked up. I wouldnt say its his best track but the prop placement is really good. As for curb boosts, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand they give people who hotlap and learn the tracks an insane advantage. So I guess you could say thats a reward for practicing? For instance a perfect lap on LSGP without curb boosts is just under 1.36. With them a 1:33 is possible... and the lines are not even that different. So in that regard they are overpowered and it makes racing against people who take the time to hotlap a track to death pointless and boring. On a side note if they are patched the leaderboards for fastest laps will have to be reset again lol fun times.

Would be nice if this where to happen but, just like the elegy supposedly becoming a super, I think it'll be nothing more than a rumor.

It will reduce the number of lamp posts knocked over and wild movements driving down straights so I'm for it.

Same and same I'll admit I do end up on curbs when it seems to make sense (eg:that FIB corner before the U-turn leading to a jump) or when I'm being sloppy, but yeah I perfer the roads, it feels more like a race Also curb boosting? I don't think so, and even if it so, don't care really =P

I hope it's true. It's pretty ridiculous that smashing a lowered supercar onto the sidewalk somehow gives you an advantage.

Shaggy is the GTA equivalent of PulpMX. He's correct with his "inside sources" enough that he can make up whatever bullshit he wants when it's a slow news day and people will talk about it like it's the word of God.

I don't take anyone's word at face value, I need proof. I mostly wanted opinions. For example, here's a video about a recent rumor that there will be First Person in Next-Gen: and here's a video of a glitch in GTA V to enter a buggy first person mode: True? False? Who knows. That's why they're rumors.
