Track Walkthrough
Rules and Regulations
A word from the sanctioning body:
Participants should show up 15 minutes early to the designated meetup area and on Teamspeak and cooperate with the directives given by the event organizers to ensure the event concludes within 75 minutes of the intended start time.
Race control:
The rules and regulations put forth in the following paragraphs shall be enforced by race control and the event hosts. Race control consists of the non-driver participants. The event hosts are redlaserbm , Prutoog , and FriendlyBaron .
Starting Grid:
The start grid will be set randomly among participants who are signed up 48 hours prior to the start of the race. Previous race winners in Broughcar/NOSCAR will take a 2-place grid penalty for each win. Participants who sign up after the gridding procedure will be placed behind gridded participants based on sign-up order.
Link to starting grid
Start Procedure:
Per standard NASCAR procedure, the start of the race will be a double-file rolling start led by a safety car. The pole-sitter may choose whether to start on the outside line or the inside line. Following a declaration by race control the safety car will pull off the track. The race begins when participants cross the start/finish line, at which point they may overtake.
Racing rules:
This event uses standard NODO rules. Wiggle-boosting is explicitly disallowed.
FPS Rule:
Participants are expected to cap their FPS at 60. If necessary, the event hosts may take action to enforce this rule.
Vehicle Restrictions:
-No offroad tires
-No neons
-No spoiler
Damaging your vehicle before the race to gain a competitive advantage is explicitly disallowed.
Pitting:
Participants must take 3 mandatory pit stops during the race. Participants may enter and exit the pit lane as fast as they can under normal race circumstances, but should take care not to impede the progress of others while pitting. Participants that pit under safety car must rejoin the track behind any car that chooses not to pit. (The pit watcher, if available, will ensure you are released in the correct position during safety car.)
Safety car:
The safety car may be deployed for the following reasons:
Only race control can deploy the safety car*. Following the deployment of the safety car, participants should slow down and line up single file behind the leader. No overtaking is allowed^. Remember that the pits are closed until race control re-opens them.
The race may end under safety car if the safety car is active or called very late in the race. Race control will do its best to ensure the race ends under normal racing conditions.
In the absence of a safety car driver, a virtual safety car will be used.
*Participants are free to deploy the safety car themselves if no members of race control are present in the race.
^Participants may freely overtake cars that crash or fail to maintain speed for an extended period of time. Race control has the final say on the legality of any overtake performed under safety car, and may reorder cars/issue penalties as deemed necessary.
Restarts:
Race control will give the “1 to go” signal during a safety car period to inform participants that a restart will happen the next time they cross the start/finish line. At this point, participants lined up in front of the leader of the race during the safety car may drive up to the back of the line before the restart--this is the Wave-around rule. Participants that use the wave-around may NOT pit until after they cross the line for the ensuing restart.
At a designated point on the track, the safety car will pull off, and participants may overtake once they cross the start/finish line*. Restarts are single-file. The leader is not allowed to pass the safety car before the restart.
If more than 90% of the race distance has been completed lapped cars must drop to the back when informed to do so before the safety car pulls off the track. Lapped cars may use the wave-around instead of dropping to the back if they can^.
Race control may wave off the restart until the next lap if the field is not properly lined up.
*Participants may freely overtake cars that crash or suffer a similar problem before the line. Race control has the final say on the legality of any overtake before the line.
^Cars that take the wave around after 90% of the race distance is completed and end up back on the lead lap do not restart directly behind the other lead lap cars. They restart at the end of the line.
Blue flag:
Participants may issue the blue flag to other participants they are lapping after the leader has completed 90% of the race distance. Participants issued the blue flag must yield to the participants lapping them. There will be notifications before and during the race at which lap the 90% mark will be hit.
Red flag:
Red flags may be issued by race control late in the race to ensure a possibility that the race finishes under normal racing conditions, or after numerous safety car incidents/a major safety car incident/many laps run under safety car to prevent too much of the race from being run under safety car conditions. Under a red flag, the leader must stop where they are. No overtaking is permitted.
Penalties/Disqualifications:
Penalties may be assessed for minor violations of the rules, or actions detrimental to the event, either during the race or after its conclusion. Participants may be disqualified for serious infractions.
The following actions automatically incur the penalties in parentheses:
Penalties for other infractions are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Penalties include but are not limited to:
The following actions are grounds for being disqualified:
Participants who are disqualified will be excluded from classification in the final results. At the discretion of the event hosts, they may be blacklisted or referred to a commissioner for further disciplinary action.
Post-Race Investigations:
Participants may request an investigation on any on-track incident by the event organizers shortly after the race conclusion. If an incident involves any organizer, they will not be included in the judgement, and in the rare case all organizers are involved, the incident will be sent up the chain to un-involved commissioners.
Participation
Signing Up:
Participants must be members of NODO and meet event eligibility requirements to sign up.
Participants must sign up in teams*. Teams may consist of 2-3 drivers and must associate with a sponsor from an in-game company with an appropriate choice of primary, secondary, and wheel colors. Teams should take care not to choose similar paint schemes. The field is limited to 27 drivers and 9 teams.
*Participants may sign up without having arranged team details beforehand and arrange them later. Participants without teams will be assigned to teams 48 hours prior to the start of the event if necessary.
Reserves:
Participants may sign up as reserves if the main sign-ups list becomes full. Teams may freely source their reserves until 48 hours before the event start, at which point the event hosts assume the role of allocating reserves to empty spots. The event hosts will assign reserves to empty seats on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Borrowing Cars:
Participants may borrow cars if necessary for the event. Participants that borrow must start from the back. Race control will act in its best efforts to prevent borrowers from a losing a significant amount of on-track time should they lose their car during the race.
Race Control
NODO members who wish to be a part of the event but not as a driver may sign up for one of the below positions in race control. Race control has the authority deploy the safety car and may issue call-outs/penalties or request post-race investigations as deemed necessary.
Safety Car Driver
The safety car driver is responsible for driving the safety car when deployed. If the safety car driver is not driving the safety car they should act as a race official (see race official section).
Pit Watcher
The pit watcher is responsible for keeping track of the pit stops taken by participants and enforcing pit road rules (issuing penalties for pit road violations, ensuring everyone takes their mandatory pits, etc.)
Race official
The race official is an additional non-driver participant who helps enforce the rules. They watch the track and ensure people are abiding by the rules, and issue call-outs/penalties if they do not abide by them.
If the pit watcher or safety car driver disconnects during a race, a race official, if possible, should replace their spot.
Points
Points will be awarded for finishing positions to determine a team champion. Only the two highest-placing drivers from each team will contribute to their team’s point count:
1st: 100
2nd: 90
3rd: 81
4th: 73
5th: 66
6th: 59
7th: 53
8th: 48
9th: 43
10th: 38
11th: 34
12th: 30
13th: 26
14th: 23
15th: 20
16th: 17
17th: 15
18th: 13
19th: 11
20th: 9
21st: 7
22nd: 5
23rd: 4
24th: 3
25th: 2
26th: 1
27th: 0
Participants who disconnect will receive points dependent on the amount of race distance they’ve completed. (Usually this means participants that disconnect late will receive more points than participants who disconnect early.)
Tiebreakers in team points will be determined by the finishing order of the third member from each team. If this does not resolve the tie, then the tiebreaker will be determined by the finishing order of the highest placing member from each team.

The safety car may be deployed for the following reasons:
- Any 3 car incident which poses an immediate danger to at least 1 other participant
- Any 4+ car incident
- Any incident where a participant must reset their car
