I found a handy little trick today whilst messing around with prop placement that may be worth adding to the OP. When trying to adjust the height of a prop, instead of using L3/R3 place the prop in the position you want it then zoom in on it. You'll hit a point where the prop starts to move with the camera and you sink props into the ground in a much more controlled manner as the movement is a lot less severe than tring to tap L3/R3. I found this particularly helpful whilst trying to make smooth rumble strips. that is what i do for fine tunning gg rodgerzzz

Nice selection of tips! The flow of the track and CP positioning are always my priorities as well, it makes or brakes a race track. When I first started playing races in GTA I was surprised that so many of the oficial and verified tracks had those basics and fundaments of a 'proper' track wrong. When I create my own tracks I often still struggle with the prop limit. I often have an idea in my head of how I want the track to be, but then I run out of props halfway and have to rethink my original idea. I still don't really get why R* made the prop limit so low as it does not take up that much resources.

I'd like to add something about prop choice, especially when it comes to tire stacks. It should be considered that these, unlike most other props, are sticky and tend to slow down and even turn around a car that touches them. They may look way better than fences or the platforms but in many cases it would be better not to use them as they can cause unecessary incidents.
Also if people want to seal off sidewalks and lamp posts, instead of placing tires or barriers across them, they could maybe sink a platform into the ground, parallel to the road. In many cases this won't even take more props.

Quick question is there a way of moving or rotating a prop after it has been placed or do I have to delete it and try to get it to line up again. I noticed in testing some of the cutting corner blocking props are too high. Can I edit them or do I have to delete them and start again?

From what I've seen you can pick up placed props again, if you turn off the prop stacking, but it resets the position and rotation so it is quite useless apart from you not having to find the prop in the menu again. Don't know if it's a bug or intended.

An update needs to happen in the prop placement section: - Use your props wisely, you are limited to
100 150 props so don't waste them.
Also, I want to point out the difference between several props that are often used to define a turn. The tyre stack walls are often used but they tend to catch a car on contact. Imho you don't want to have them close to the racing line, only to give visual feedback on the course. Good props to use that do not slow down your car are concrete barriers, wooden boardings (construction category), new billboards (move the tyre stack base into the ground) and stunt block props.

Well it is R* so what should be easy doesn't exist. LOL

Some sort of glitch with that on CCC_010's vids on YT: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l2SgvLcQQM&feature=youtu.be&t=8m

Anyone know how i can set the Car restriction properly? I have a Race for Supersport Cars and i want to Ban the RE-7B from the Race. I have found the Point where you can restrict the Cars but you can still choose all Custom Cars ....
I also want a Monster Truck Only Race but when you cant set the restriction properly you can still choose other Cars instead of the Monster Truck.

You can restrict cars when creating a track , but when you race it , it only works on stock cars. If you select custom cars, all cars will be available. I guess its to stop people making a race set to a rare car that the host owns and everyone else had to use the stock version. Cant think of another reason, but hey, its R*
